Quit Smoking Hypnosis - Ready to stop smoking with hypnotherapy?
The majority of long-term smokers know that they will need to stop smoking some time in the future. The only question is "What needs to happen for them finally to decide to quit smoking now?"
Of course most smokers hope that they give up smoking in time and before they contract a terminal ailment.
Now really is the time to stop. Tomorrow may just be too late. There has never been a better time to quit cigarettes. With the UK now having a ban on smoking in public places, this really is the time to stop smoking for good.
As an experienced quit smoking hypnotist, I have helped many people over the years to stop smoking for good. Many of them have let me know the great sense of freedom they enjoy through being a committed non-smoker.
Are you ready to enjoy your freedom too?
PLEASE do take part in my poll below to let me know more about your smoking. Thank you

Quit Smoking Tips - Use These To Help You Stop Smoking
Helping you to stop smoking for good
Sometimes it's knowing these extra practical tips that can make the difference between success and failure when quitting smoking. Here are some to help you:-- Choose a date that is right for you - try to avoid the good intentioned but normally unsuccessful New Year resolutions idea
- Make sure you have thought about at least 3 clear reasons why it is important for you to stop smoking now. Write these down and carry them wherever you go.
- More often than not quitting smoking completely tends to work better than cutting down. Cutting down gradually means smoking is constantly on your mind and as you remind yourself how many you are allowed to smoke today.
- It is better to stop smoking before you get any bad health news. An upsetting diagnosis adds more stress to your life. Sometimes but not always the shock of the news often is enough make some people "see the light" and to stop smoking
- Make sure your reasons for stopping smoking are motivating enough. By all means have reasons that are driven by fear eg. cancer (these are called "away-from" motivators because you want to get away-from or avoid them. Don't forget to have "towards" motivating reasons too eg. feeling fitter (towards motivating reasons are the things that attract us and what we desire such as smoother skin and healthy looking hair)
- Choose a date when you know your stress levels are likely to be lower or on an even keel. Don't choose a busy time at work, with deadlines to meet, as the best time to stop smoking
- Decide to quit smoking for yourself - don't let anyone cajol or pressure you into quitting before you are ready to do it

I've smoked for way too long and frequently. When I've quit for a couple of days then had a cigarette I've felt a total physical relief in my lungs and mind. That to me is an addiction. That is my brain rewarding me for giving it that secret sauce (nicotine) it so craves. It is NOT how I feel smoking on a day to day basis. Usually then smoking doesn't come close to giving me that feeling unless I chain smoke. It is gross, killing my body, draining my attention to always think about it, putting a wedge between me and friends who don't smoke (kinda making me antisocial unless I'm with other fellow smokers). It may be a habit for some but for me I'm for sure addicted and it sucks. I have to make the decision to quit and commit. I have to commit to respecting myself and understanding that life is some kind of gift and that I would like to live longer and comfortably, not in a wheelchair with an oxygen tank, gum disease, a weak heart, or a sad family.

As an ex-smoker I say it is an addiction. However I also agree that it is a habit as one of the ways I was able to finally quit smoking was by changing my habits, so it is both in my view.

It's a Habit
Niki Cassar says:
When I'm working with clients to help them stop smoking with hypnosis, I always ask them if they can get through a longhaul flight without a cigarette? They always yes. I then ask them if they think that someone who is addicted to heroine could get through the same flight without a fix? They always say no! I then ask them again 'Addiction or habit?' and usually they then agree it is a habit. Guess what? Habits can be changed very easily!

I would say smoking is actually a habit. Although I have never smoked myself, I do know people who have smoked for years then suddenly given up. One because he just decided to and the other for health reasons. I'm not sure that would be possible if it was an addiction.

Smoking - What got you to be a smoker?
Why do we start smoking in the first place?
Do you remember your first? Do you remember why you smoked?
Here are some of the most common reasons the smokers I have helped become non-smokers, have divulged to me.
1) I thought it would help relax me during a stressful period in my life
2) Everyone else was doing it so I joined in
3) It was the rebel in me that wanted to be different.
4) I did it to help with my confidence.
5) We dared each other to smoke
6) All my friends were smoking and I wanted to feel a part of it all.
7) I was against smoking but when I went to a funeral someone gave me a cigarette to help me feel better
8) My parents smoked but preached how bad smoking was.
9) It just seemed like a cool thing to do
Do any of the above recognise any one or more of the above reasons for starting smoking?

- This is a really nice lens. Straight forward and to the point. I like all the different info you display and the way you lay it out there. Having those little polls and question and answer stuff is a nice touch.
Using hypnosis to stop smoking is the number one best way to quit.
There are many ways to stop as you mention and
I know that for smoking hypnosis is the best approach to use.
I don't think that nicotine is much of an addiction. I think it is much more of a habit and emotional tool for distraction. Physically the chemical dependency lasts for a very short time, just a couple of days. What most people who are having difficulty quitting experience is the emotional turmoil from losing the crutch they've depended upon. That's not physical addiction.
That's why smoking hypnosis is my favored choice.

Quit Smoking Wikipedia
Smoking cessation (or quitting smoking) is the process of discontinuing the practice of inhaling a smoked substance in order to avoid negative health effects caused by this activity.
Smoking cessation programs mainly target the smoking of tobacco, but may also encompass cannabis or other substances that can be difficult to stop using due to the development of strong physical addictions or psychological dependencies resulting from their habitual use.
