- Interesting, except that I have heard multiple candy makers, including a rep from a company that makes candy canes, say that the candy cane actually has nothing to do with Jesus or Christmas at all. They said that tale was created long after the candy cane was created when a candy maker hung some warm candy sticks over a rope (or pole, I don't remember) to cool, producing the hook shape.
