Further Help From Related Web Sites
This is obviously such a large subject area, we know how the French love their food after all. But there are a number of sites which can offer help to understand what is meant by the menu terms in common usage.Reading the menu in a French restaurant can be a little tricky, and not just due to language difficulties. There may be important differences between restaurants in France and in your own country, including what food is offered and how it is prepared. One obvious example is the term "entree". In France this means the starter but in Canada and the United States it has come to mean the "Main Meal".

More Quizes About Foreign LanguageTerms on Restaurant Menus
I have also written a brief lens on why you are offered a taste of any bottle of wine you order in a restaurant. It is not to see if you like the wine but to give you an opportunity to see if the wine has been spoilt in the bottle,so that you can send it back and ask for a replacment if necessary.
Will you be able to order your meal with confidence now?
How did you do on the quiz?
Any tips to pass on to the next person taking the quiz. Any other terms which you have had trouble with in the past? Share your experience with us all.
And here's a little tip, most waiters will be only too pleased to help with a menu - just remember the help when it comes to his/her tip!
