People have been fascinated by and coveted precious stones since the first glowing rock was pulled from the earth. Something about that shock of color appearing within dull gray rock or subdued brown earth excites the imagination and ignites desire. How much do you know about these sparkly, colorful rocks with which we like to adorn ourselves? Do you know your birthstone? How about colors and characteristics of various gemstones?     It was harder than expected. I like gemstones, passed exam in crystallography years ago, but am currently out of the scene... Results were just about average:)
