Rivers

Rivers are natural watercourses that flow toward an ocean, a sea, a lake or another river.
Rivers carry a large amount of sediments and, if conditions permit, they can form deltas at their mouths. But they can form estuaries when their mouths are in saline tidal waters.
A few rivers that need to be mentioned are, in my opinion, Amazon, Nile, Gange and Obi.

Amazon river

It's located in the northen part of South America.
Amazon is the river with the largest drainage basin in the world, covering approximately 7 million square kilometres.
Amazon releases a large amount of fresh water in the Atlantic Ocean: 300000 cubic metres per second during the rainy season.
Amazon covers about 20% of the fresh water that enters the oceans. It enters the Atlantic Ocean in an enormous estuary of 240km wide.
But still Amazon is not the longest river in the world and it doesn't have the longest estuary in the world.

Nile river

The Nile is situated in Africa and it is renowned for the fact that it crosses the Sahara Desert from south to north.
It was an important pillar in the Ancient Egyptian's economy.
The Nile is the longest river in the world with a length of 6650 km.

Ganges

Besides being the Holy river of Hinduism, Gange is the largest river of the Indian Subcontinent and it's renouned for the creation of the largest delta in the world.

Obi

Obi is a large river situated in Siberia, Russia.
When it comes to geographical superlatives, the Obi River has a special place having the longest estuary in the world with a length of about 800km.

The Mountains

A mountain is a large landform that stretches above the surrounding land in a limited area usually in the form of a peak.
Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the World: Chomolungma Peak 8848 metres.
Mount McKinley is the highest mountain in the North America: 6194 m
Aconcagua is the highest mountain in South America: 6960m
Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa: 5895m
Kosciusko is the highest mountain in Australia: 2228m
Elbrus is the highest mountain in Europe: 5642m

Islands

You would think that the biggest island in the world is Australia, right? Well, I can't question that, but, Australia is not an island is a continent. Therefore The biggest island in the world is Greenland with a surface of 2,130,800 square kilometers.

Deserts

Deserts are regions where precipitations are scarce, almost non-existant. Under this definition the biggest desert in the world is Antarctica, a huge iced desert.
Most of us see deserts as those huge land masses covered with sand. In my quiz I considered this definition of deserts and, that being said, the biggest desert in the world is Sahara, situated in the North part of Africa.

Waterfalls

Waterfalls are, indeed, one of the most beautiful natural phenomena. When I think about this subject 3 waterfalls come to my mind:

Angel Falls

Angel Falls is the highest waterfall in the world - 979 m

Niagara

Niagara Falls is the waterfall with the biggest enegetic potential.

Iguazu Falls

Iguazu is the most beautiful waterfall in the world. You can see in the picture why.
