Spotlight on "Some Kind of Wonderful"
My personal favorite among John Hughes' 80s teen movies.

Some Kind of Wonderful is my favorite among John Hughes' teen movies in the 80s. In this movie, main character tomboyish drummer Watts (brilliantly played by Mary Stuart Masterson) is secretly in love with her best friend, Keith Nelson (Eric Stoltz), an aspiring artist who is oblivious to her affection because he's got a crush on the beautiful Amanda Jones (Lea Thompson), the popular high school beauty. Sound like your regular love triangle? Yes, but there's more.

Watts attempts to prove to Keith that there's more to love than surface attraction and that people from different "classes" just don't mix. The twist is that Amanda, popular as she is, is not the stereotypical unreachable prom queen and that she and Keith do get along fine. But in the end, after much emotional anguish from all parties, Keith realizes with whom he really is in love with. The witty dialogue, spectacular acting, and unpredictable plot make this movie a delight to watch over and over.

Duckie or Blane, who would you choose?
The Pretty in Pink debate.
It's been revealed recently that Pretty in Pink's original ending favored Molly Ringwald's character Andie to end up with her sweet and dependable best buddy Duckie Dale. Do you agree or disagree? Check out the following lens to lend your support to the argument.
