What is Lateral Thinking?
Welcome to the Lateral Thinking Quiz! Lateral thinking also known as Creative thinking is the ability to think creatively, or "outside the box" as it is sometimes referred to in business; to use your inspiration and imagination to solve problems by looking at them from unexpected perspectives. Lateral thinking involves discarding the obvious, leaving behind traditional modes of thought, and throwing away preconceptions.
It's very important in careers such as advertising, marketing, the media and art and design, where you may get questions in the selection process along the lines of "Write down one hundred ways to use a brick/paperclip", but it can also be of value in the jobhunting process itself.

- Big Ben has 8 hands because there are four faces of the clock.:) I missed "What cows drink". Baby cows drink milk, after all! (and I can only assume they'd drink buttermilk out of curiousity if nothing else). ;) Great quizzes!

I got all 10 of the 10 question test, but, basically, I've heard most of these before. I wish you'd explain how the north star if north of north and how Big Ben's clock (Big Ben being the bell) has 8 hands.
For those of you who didn't get number 10, dividing something by 1/2 is equal to multiplying by 2 (to divide by a fraction, multiply by its reciprocal -- see my lens about Fractions at http://www.squidoo.com/math_hints1 )

- On question 8 it doesn't ask what position the hand is - the 61st - so I think my answer of 60 is more right than the official answer of 1. but I'm no expert on clocks - missed the 8 on Big Ben!
