I keep hearing that Carter is the worst president ever. One of the things that is listed is the inflation that he created.

However, few people realize that inflation got so bad under Nixon that he initiated Price/Wage freezes on most private businesses. This happened in 1971 and was more government control than any recent Democratic president.

More Presidents and Taxes

Between 1952 and 1960 the tax rates for the highest income bracket was a whooping 90% while the lowest was 20%. Remember that this was generally considered a time of prosperity in this country.

    Yes, I didn't recall that. I don't remember if those applied to military or not, I was in the Army 4 of those 8 years and honestly didn't really pay much attention to the taxes.
