I have so many things that i love to do. I had plans to do so many of them just to end up doing something that wasn't even on my list. So go figure that. I do believe you have to be happy in what you are doing. Live is to short for being in a job that you can hardly get out of bed to go in.
    Nice lens.

So many people are confused on what they'd like to do for a career. The answer might be right in front of them, and it's always what you LOVE doing.

I'm currently looking for a job. Right now I'm looking for anything. I'm going to school full time, so that I can actually get a job that I want doing what I want, but right now I need anything. Hopefully something that pays "enough." Although if unemployment runs out, I'll take whatever to bring anything in.

I remember taking Career Quizzes back in the late 60's. They always seemed to come close. Very good information here on Career Aptitude Tests.

Very interesting. I totally changed my career after 18 years in commercial life to become an academic. Not so unusual I guess, nevertheless going through a change (I believe the technical jargon is a Levinson Transition!) is a challenge and having an insight into yourself with tools like these is always a useful thing. This should be helpful to many people. As you know, I now love off my Squidoo earnings and am trying to learn how to increase my income at what I'm already doing. I love the creative and artistic aspects and am starting to warm up to marketing. How can I make more time? I know, working smarter, not harder.

I have to say that I am actually doing my ideal job - writing and teaching. Now all I have to do is work out how to make some money at it ;)

But seriously, these career quizzes are great for highlighting what you are best at doing - I guess the trick is having the confidence to do it.
  • pkmcr Oct 8, 2010 @ 1:42 pm | delete
Thank you that is very kind of you and really appreciated
  • SofiaMann Sep 22, 2010 @ 8:09 pm | delete
Take all tests offered by the college and the response was: you can pursue the career you want. Now I work at a college and students do not believe that these tests will help! I think the test is just one step but the orientation of a specialist should accompany it.
  • The_Health_Lady Sep 17, 2010 @ 1:12 pm | delete
I have taken several career quizzes and they often tell me that I should go into architectural design or mechanical drawing. I probably should have way back when I was still in school then maybe I could be living in a custom home. If I only knew then what I know now......
I think that we all should take these tests and really think about what they tell us.
  • pkmcr Sep 17, 2010 @ 1:39 pm | delete
They do throw up some fascinating insights don't they and yes we should all try them and see what they do indicate that we can use to learn from
  • luvmyludwig Sep 10, 2010 @ 7:44 am | delete
I remember taking one of these tests in school and it said I should do something pertaining to organization. I am not an organized person, so I have no idea how that one worked out. lol

    these look promising though :)
