Well most of you guys would be wondering that who is Rabbi & Cantor Steven Blane, well I would like to tell you that he was Spiritual Leader of Congregation Beth Tikvah or New Milford Jewish Center from year 2006 to 2009. He had served people as Cantor at Congregation Beth Israel situated in Bergenfield, N.J. from 1999 and was also an associate of the Cantor's Assembly, a group of the finest Cantors in the world. Cantor Blane started his Cantorial career by leading High Holiday services at conventional Temples Beth Israel in Biloxi, Mississippi in 1991 along with Shaarey Zedek in Buffalo, N.Y. in 1992.  He served people for four years as Cantor (1994-98) at conventional First Hebrew worshippers in Peekskill, New York, as well as one year (1996) as Cantor at Reform Temple Beth Haverim in Mahwah, N.J. throughout his final year at First Hebrew Congregation, he served as Spiritual Leader. Blane was ordained as Rabbi in the month of June of year 2001 and as a member of the International Federation of Rabbis. As Rabbi, Blane's promise is to look after, repair and bring joy to the community. His slogan is "No is not in G-d's dictionary." His Cantorial adviser of many years is Cantor Noah Schall, who is known as the 'Cantor's Cantor' who previously trained Nusah as well as Hazzanut at Yeshiva institution of higher education. Cantor Blane also studied voice with globally acclaimed Soprano, Shoshana Shoshan. He has taken courses at the Jewish Theological academy in countrified psychotherapy.

 

Rabbi Blane attended Yeshiva of Hudson County, N.J. grammar and high schools, and consequently acquired a Bachelor degree in Music teaching. He graduated cum laude from Jersey City institution of higher education, with a main in Voice. After to college, he performed as a vocalist/performer off as well as on Broadway, most remarkably, in the show "STRIDER" in 1978-79. He was a film additional (look for him in "The Chosen" but don't blink) and wrote an Off-Off Broadway Musical, which he produced in 1981. He released a CD- "Shirim L'Yom HaShabbat-Songs of the Sabbath daybreak Service," in which he sings a number of the Congregational melodies sung in Synagogues though out the world. One of the songs from his CD was featured on a collection CD entitled "The Spirit of Shabbat," which was a combined project of the Cantor's congregation as well as the USCJ. To date it has sold 80,000 copies.  His "Hanukah Hip-Hop" was featured on a supplementary Cantor's congregation/USCJ CD, "The Spirit of Hanukah." And, lower is "A Little Light" from You Tube. It is an astonishing Hanukah Song written by Blane and performed by his Hebrew School students.
