Great lens AJ. My son just got a new pet rabbit a few weeks ago so I am still learning about rabbits.

Great lens. I lost a rabbit to cancer as well. it's horrible, but as you say, you have to do what's best for them.

The only health 'problem' our rabbits had was fertility! We had wood in the hutch for chewing and bathed them if they had any waste that stuck to their fur.
I need to send my daughter here so she can lensroll this to her Fun, Furry Bunnies lens. You've provided a lot of helpful information that she doesn't cover.

I had a bunny and used to walk him on leashes and he lived in my room with me and he was potty trained and everything. He only lived to be a year old because he started wheezing and the vet told me he had a hairball and told me to give him this mixture and i did so, only to have the bunny die in my arms as i tried to give him it for the 4th time. He hated it and he was probably so scared and confused why i would do this to him. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. I definitely think this is a great lens, spread the.
    knowledge on bunny health!

Sally, that is so sad - but you know, I really believe it was not the treatment that you were trying to give your bunny that caused him to die, it was probably whatever was wrong with him and maybe no matter what you tried he was just destined to cross that Rainbow Bridge.

This is what happened with our bunny, her time had come and there was nothing that anyone could do.

our dwarf used to get constipated from hairballs; the dr recommended fresh squeezed pineapple juice - always did the trick.

Great lens! I really like the section on information for rabbit health - something anyone who owns a rabbit should be aware of. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for sharing this information and education people about the symptoms and prevention of these illnesses. Being educated can prevent a sad and tragic ending to a pet's life. I am deathly allergic to dogs and cats and found comfort in the company of rabbits after my husband and I got married. We kept our bunnies inside with supervised playtime outside and found the House Rabbit Handbook very valuable as we were leaning to share our space.

Wow, very informative. I've never had a pet rabbit, but I remember a friend's rabbit that needed its teeth trimmed on a regular basis. I'll just settle for enjoying (from a distance) the adorable wild rabbits that visit our yard.

I have unfortunately never had a rabbit. I have always wanted one.. or ten. They are beautiful and I can certainly tell how much you love them in your writing. Lovely lens.

A very good lens about rabbit health! I lensrolled you to my "Proper Rabbit Care" lens.

Thanks for this. Clearly we have a lot to learn from you on better care of our bunny. we did vaccinate for Haemorrhagic Disease as New Zealand released it into the park near our house to control the wild bunny population (I am pretty sure this was the disease, name sounds correct and so does the description, sad, isn't it.)

Our indoor rabbit started sneezing a lot for a couple of weeks, and I grew worried that he had snuffles. We had been feeding him mostly timothy hay and rabbit pellets. I added in some fresh veggies every day..and the sneezing stopped. That was several months ago and the sneezing hasn't come back. My best guess is that the nutrients in the veggies helped improve his immune system and thus contributed to his health.

Thanks for this very informative lens! I'll refer back to it if our rabbit has any more problems!

We had a rabbit -- a New Zealand one -- when we were kids in Cleveland, Ohio. When my parents divorced, I lost track of Bun-Bun. I guess even bunnies need health care. Probably the first lens on this topic!
