Rachel's Squidoo Thanks

Ranked #5,025 in Squidoo Community, #346,121 overall

The One Where Rachel Says Thank You...

I want to say thank you to the lovely lensmasters out there who've made Squidoo truly wonderful for me.

When I first joined, way back when (March 2009!) I never thought Squidoo and its lensmasters would become so important to me. I just wanted somewhere to pimp my textiles work and what I got was an online social life, a way to explore my (many) interests, an excuse to talk about what I wanted to talk about and a way of exercising my writing skills.

This lens has been so much fun to make because it's given me a great excuse to read through some amazing lenses by some awesome lensmasters when I should be working!

Rachel's Squidoo Thanks is dedicated to the people who've made my Squidoo life enjoyable and who've made me feel part of a community.

A_Willow and Fresh Squids

a_willow found me early on in my Squid career and asked me to take part in her Fresh Squid Contest.

My Message To A_Willow...

...Originally featured in MysticMama's lens below.

"Michelle, you have been so wonderful and encouraged me so much!

You've given me so much help and pointed out so many things that I wouldn't have noticed by myself, and all without me asking. I don't know many people who would take someone new under their wing like that.

Even as I'm writing this message you're giving me some great advice via Twitter!

I wouldn't have been trying to be a giant squid if you hadn't told me about the challenge and therefore made me feel like I could achieve it.

Thank you for making me a part of the WiWon group. I've learnt so much and felt included- I'm not usually very good at joining in with online communities but you made it very easy for me to feel like I belonged."

Thank you A_Willow

Lanian Gets a...

...Special mention.

Lanian gets a special mention because when I was going for Giant she reviewed so many of my lenses and other people's. She could have spent that time just working on her own lenses but she was continually supportive. I'm glad she's in my WiWon group!

But How Did I Get Here?

Noadi

Handmade business.

Although I don't personally know Noadi, I never would have found Squidoo if it wasn't for her.

A link was given, in an etsy e-mail, to one of her blog entries, from there I found her Squidoo lenses and thought that it was a great idea to make some of my own for my handmade business.

As usual, a wonderful lens from a talented 100 Clubber! Some of the same people you have mentioned also inspired me. We were very lucky to be on the WiWon Team for our journey to 100.
