Racquetball - The Forgotten Extreme Sport
When most people think of Racquetball, they think of sweaty stock brokers in the 70s and 80s with big ugly mustaches running around getting their morning exercise. This leads a lot of people to not try the sport because they think its some archaic sport that nobody plays anymore. Fortunately, this is a total lie! Racquetball is a ridiculously fun adrenaline filled extreme sport that includes diving for a ball, sprinting and the risk of getting smoked in the face with a tiny rubber ball!

History Of Racquetball
The history of Racquetball is an interesting one, Joseph Sobek worked at a rubber factory and was always a huge fan of hand ball. Well he came up with a concept similar to handball with rackets similar to tennis. One thing led to another and mr Sobek came up with a sport he called 'Paddle Racquets'. The sport has taken off from there. You can read more about the History Of Racquetball by clicking that link.
Racquetball Equipment
Conveniently, racquetball requires very little equipment. The most challenging aspect of the required equipment if finding a racquetball court you can rent. They tend to go for around $10 an hour at most local rec center facilities.
Aside from that you really only need three other basic pieces of equipment.
A Racket
A pair of Goggles
a pair of shoes
Those are the three required pieces of equipment, all together should cost you less than $40 assuming you own a pair of running shoes already!
The only other optional piece of equipment I would personally recommend is a sweat band, as you sweat like a pig playing racquetball!
Racquetball Strategies
Once you've got a few dozen games of racquetball under your belt, you are definitely going to want to focus on your strategies. There are serve strategies, Deep-End Pin Strategies, Momentum Strategy and Jamming Strategies.
I would suggest picking one to start and practice it until you master it, then move on to the next! Once you've mastered all 4 strategies you will probably have a pretty easy time beating most mediocre opponents!
