Radio-controlled boat

The hobby of radio controlled boats has four main categories: nitro, gas, sail, and electric. The advantage of electric is the ease of maintenance, the relatively cheap price, and the quite electric motor which allows you to play without disturbing other people. How fast does it go? The basic entry level, ready to run radio controlled boat kits can go 15 - 20 mph. This is already very fast, especially if this is your first time with the hobby. And as your skill level progresses, you can upgrade to fast motors and higher voltage batteries to increase speed and excitement.

Radio Control Boats- Sail

Sail Boats are the Leisure Radio Control Boats

Radio Control Boats- SailRadio Control sailboats are a variety of RC boat models that are replicas of real-life sailboats. With all the pleasures and none of the pressures of running a fast-paced RC Boat, RC sailboats are all about leisure. So if you're heading for a picnic and looking for a nice little day by the lake, get yourself one of these Radio Control sailboats.
There are four basic techniques of running your RC sailboat, in wind. The first is called "Reaching". In this format, the wind hits the sails at an angle of 90 degrees, or perpendicular to the boat's side. The second, called "Running" is the state where the wind is hitting the RC sailboat from behind.

The third, called "Beating" is when the wind is almost against the direction of the boat. In this kind of scenario, the boat actually moves ahead, but slowly. Any straighter and the boat will need a "tacking" maneuver to get through.

Tacking is basically a way of weaving left & right, when the wind is directly against the RC sailboat. This allows the boat to create a "beating" angle with each weave, allowing it to move ahead despite the wind.

Most Radio Control sailboats run on two-channel radios, but with a difference. Like other two-channel radio controlled boats, one of the channels is used for the rudder. RC sailboats use the second channel to control the sails. As wind power acts as the throttle for these boats, there is no mechanical throttle in place, removing the need of such a control.

Completely different from the average electric or fuel-powered RC boat, RC sailboats require very little in terms of equipment and assembly time. Where they do take time is in learning the nuances of running such a wonderful piece of machinery, with the power of wind. If you do pick it up, you will enjoy every challenge that RC sailboats throw at you.

Radio Control Boats-Electric

Electric Radio Control Boats Perfect for Beginners

Electric Radio Control BoatElectric Radio Control boats are extremely easy to maintain and keep running and are often much cheaper than some of the other varieties. On top of this, the motor within an electric boat is much quieter and can be far less of a disturbance to other people around you. If you are already involved in RC toys as a hobby, you can even take the electric motor out of your RC car and put it into a boat and it will run quite efficiently.

Electric Radio Control boats are quite a lot faster than many people think. Ready to go boats that you can purchase can run at speeds upwards of 15 miles per hour. This is already very fast on its own and does not include the extras and add on features that you can put into the motor to make it run at even greater speeds. If you are a beginner to the hobby then you do not really need any more speed than this in the first place.

The extra speed that can be supplied by a gas or nitro boat may be a little too much for you to handle at first. Once you begin to learn how to control an electric RC boat at this speed you can begin to move on to bigger motors and faster boats. A 15 mile per hour boat will seem like it is going incredibly faster in a small area such as a swimming pool.

Radio Control Boat- Gas

Gas RC Boats Step Up From The Electric

Gas Powered radio Controlled BoatAn Radio Control gas boat is the ideal step-up in your RC boat hobby. After you get bored of exploring everything that an RC electric boat has to offer, you can simply move up to an RC gas boat and experience a brand new world of possibilities. More power, better performance and bigger thrills - that is what you get with an RC gas boat.
At an average length of 4 to 5 feet, an RC gas boat is usually amongst the largest variety of boats available today. Their large engine size is the key reason behind such a massive frame, ensuring that everything stays where it is supposed to be.

Radio Control gas boats run on internal combustion engines, just like your car. This means that you can run it on the same gasoline + oil mixture that you get at the local filling station. This ensures cheaper fuel and running costs as compared to a nitro RC boat. With an RC gas boat, you also get the advantage of having a safer-to-handle fuel as compared to an RC nitro boat.

Radio Control Boats- Nitro

Nitro Radio Control Boats Are Top Of The Class

Nitro Gas Powered Tiger Shark BoatA nitro Radio Control boat is the topmost level in the world of RC boats. With top-notch performance and brilliant handling, a nitro RC boat offers you what no other model can. From speed boats to large battleships, everything goes into a level of its own with your nitro Radio Control boat.

The key feature that separates a nitro RC boat from the rest is the engine that is used in it. A nitro RC boat runs on an internal combustion engine, just like an RC gas boat. However, unlike the gas version, a nitro RC boat uses a careful mixture of Gasoline, Nitro-methane and wax. This mixture is more volatile and delivers more power when burnt in the engine.

Due to the inherent nature of the fuel, the engine used for a nitro RC boat is smaller, albeit still an internal combustion model.

A nitro Radio Control boat is available in a variety of different models. Being fast and agile, these nitro RC boats are usually picked by those who are looking at serious competitive racing with an RC boat. While you can also pick your nitro RC boat for a day out by the lake, racing it under pressure, in competitions, for prize money is unbeatable.

The power and performance of these nitro RC boats make them unparalleled in the radio controlled boating world. However, if you are getting one for yourself, remember that maintaining a nitro RC boat is no easy task.

While you can always do the service and cleanup at home, you should only try it if you have enough experience with gas RC boats, before this. More expensive than the regular gas or electric versions, your nitro RC boat will require you to be completely thorough and careful with your work. You need to be careful when handling the fuel while cleaning out the parts, thoroughly, will require you to take them apart before putting them back together.

Knowing exactly how to do so may require time and effort but that is something that you will need to put in if you are looking to get into this hobby.

Your nitro Radio Control boat will be more expensive although with proper care and maintenance, you will be able to get more out of it than from any other form of radio controlled models. With greater power, agility and performance, you are sure to have a lot of fun with your nitro RC boat
