Sky 1 - Gets Radio Talent

How Sky 1 find yet another person using Radio Talent

Sure everyone knows we have now secured lucrative contracts and employment for almost all of our members, but it's nice to be reminded, especially if you are considering ways to make money yourself or improve your career.

Natalie B is another prime example of how our website literally pays dividends upon its investment. Natalie joined Radio Talent when she was working at Heart 106.2 in London. She wanted to make sure people knew where she could be found and at the same time secure her profile is in the market place.

Subsequently Natalie has just completed a series on Sky 1 as a narrator and has also secured a contract to present Sundays at Heart in Sussex.

Well done Natalie. Not a bad return on £79

Membership at Radio Talent really does improve your profile, not just your earning potential.

Radio Talent's accomplished voiceover Posy Brewer recently got some serious inches as a Radio Talent member, she spoke to the national paper The Stage recently.

Is Talent alone enough?

Is talent overated? A useful question to ponder.

A book by Malcomb Gladwell explains that Talent is sometimes overated and that there are other factors which help a person become successful.

Not only does your date of birth actually determine your success, but where you live, who you hang out with, and who your parents are.

This is useful when thinking about your radio career as it challenges you to think more deeply about your journey.

Our interpretation of the book "Outliers" led us to believe that there are circumstances which you can manipulate in order to become more successful, regardless of those beyond your control.

The book inspired us to think that it is not JUST talent but the application of a combination of factors together which all collate to bringing about success.

These might include being in the right time, being spotted by accident, thinking about your geographic status, being realistic about expectations but most of all being open minded about your approach to success.

What you might think creates success for people might actually be completely different to what actually happens.

Globally speaking this re-enforces our beliefs that talent alone will never make a person rich but marketing that talent and applying it correctly is more key.

Want to work at Heart

Get a job working in radio for the greatest brand?

There's no doubt working for one of the 8 million heart stations is a good thing.

Not only do you get to be part of something special and feel proud when it comes on the TV but you get to be behind one of the first radio brands for years who have taken marketing and branding to the limits.

Like all jobs there is a few caveats and always an annoying gate keeper.
In this case, if you are a presenter, the gate keeper is the man who makes the decisions about who goes on air and who doesn't.

Sure if you are lucky enough he will come to your house and tell you what you need to do if you want to work for him and Heart, but that's unlikely.

Or you can spend 86p and get a one to one with him to get the same information.
If you ever want to be on the air for Heart, do a network show for Heart or work for the brand, you are going to need to know what is required of you and this man gives it to you in proper detail.
