And the #1 Most Popular Raffle Prize Is...

Electronics!

Prize Idea #1: Raffling Electronics

Sleek and Modern Raffle Prize Ideas!

Electronics make great raffle prizes, because they're flashy and fun to look at, and people want to own them (although they won't always purchase these items for themselves).

In addition, electronics often go on sale, so you can get pricey items for a lot less than the original costs. It's not surprising to find a $200 camera for less than $100, bringing it just into your raffle prize price range.

Can't find what you're looking for? Why not search for more electronics prizes?

How to Choose a Good Raffle Prize

Make It Desirable, Focused, Portable, and Simple

Jewelry TigerHere are the properties of a good raffle prize, and some things to keep in mind:

1.) The most important aspect of a prize is that it must be desirable. Anything that's new, in style, or rare fits this category.

2.) A raffle prize must also be focused on your audience or the specific cause. Will parents be the main group attending the raffle? A toy could be a good idea. Are you fundraising to fight diabetes? Perhaps chocolate isn't the best choice. Choose a prize geared towards the people who will be there to buy the tickets, and keep your purpose in mind. Electronics is a good category because it can suit a wide range of groups and causes.

3.) An often overlooked characteristic of a good prize is that it's portable. Who knows who will be at the raffle? Maybe the middle school principal's cousins from Alaska decide to swing by. They need something they can take with them on their long trek home. In addition, they might not have a Best Buy in their town, so a gift certificate would go to waste.

4.) The more simple to start using a raffle prize is, the better. Choose a prize that doesn't require a lot of effort to set up or use.

Have You Had Success With Any Of These Prizes?

Yes! I raffled one of these prizes and made tons of money!

hexagon says:

I say yes. Unique and hard to find items can bring in much money. I would expect the koolatron mini-fridge could be a success if we got this as a prize. Not many, if any of those I know got one.

No, I think that something else would have been more effective. Such as...

resabi says:

I've never raffle off any of these items -- most of my experience was putting together gift baskets from donated items. One possibility is to have various people purchase small things that can be assembled into a basket. I have to check "no" here but it's not because I think something else would be more effective -- just that I haven't used any of these.

Great lens. Electronics really do sell well, especially with this day and age. 50/50 raffle does REALLY well too. You don't even need to actually have an item, you just give the winner half of your pot and you take the other half. That's one of the fundraising raffles we do with childhood cancer research.

Check our my lens, its about raising childhood cancer awareness. The facts may surprise you! :)
