The world's largest rag doll
A rag doll more than 16 meters in height is displayed today in a square in the city of Camaguey, in theeast-central Cuba, and its creators hope it will be recognized as the largest of its kind in the world, local media said.
His name is "Eleanor" and twenty artisans took ten months to manufacture it inspired by "The black doll," who wrote the story of independence and Cuban poet José Martí more than a century.
According to project leader, Carmen Soto, the group is managing to "transfer" to "Eleanor" the Guinness record, which he said, reached a doll Argentina's 13 meters high called "Pepona."
"Eleanor" has a metal base and its interior was built with different waste types, which were coated with a gown in the colors of the Cuban flag.
The doll will remain at least a week hanging from a crane in the Plaza de Camagüey Workers.
