How To Have Your Own "Raggs" Theme Birthday Party!

Although the Raggs television series is hugely popular in Australia and New Zealand, it's still fairly new in the U.S., so finding supplies for a Raggs theme birthday party can be quite challenging. My kids absolutely ADORE the Raggs Kids Club Band, so I had to get creative and innovative to give my twin girls a Raggs theme party for their first birthday.

I'm sharing my ideas with you so that you can throw a fun Raggs theme birthday party, too!

Raggs Theme Concept

Because you will have to create most of the Raggs themed items yourself, the best way to go about throwing a Raggs party is to use multi-colored party supplies and dog paw and/or dog bone motifs as foundational tools. Simply compliment these basics with Raggs specific items and you create a Raggs Kids Clubhouse ambience and a wonderful theme party.

Raggs Birthday Cakes

You can create a professional looking Raggs theme cake without having to be a pro cake decorator. With the right tools, your Raggs birthday cake will wow your guests and bring a smile to your child's face.

To create a Raggs theme birthday cake you will need:

* 1 medium sized sheet cake with white icing
* Foodwriter Edible Ink Food markers
* Rice paper (also called wafer paper)
* a tracable picture of your favorite Raggs character
* Rainbow candy confetti
* Edible paint
* Small to medium sized paintbrush

A storebought cake with accents in primary colors (red, blue, yellow) works best. If you bake your own cake you simply have to use white fondant icing and add border embellishments yourself.

How To Create The Cake

1) Take your traceable picture of your favorite Raggs character (I used the Raggs official website coloring section to select an outline image to print) and place a sheet of rice paper over it, making sure to steady the rice paper with either your non-writing hand or a paper weight of some kind.

2) Use the Foodwriter marker(s) of your choice to neatly trace the outline. Use the edible paint and a small to medium sized brush to fill in the white spaces with color. GET AN EDIBLE CAKE PAINT RECIPE HERE. Small or narrow spaces can be filled with the Foodwriter markers.

3) Place the rice paper drawing carefully onto the cake. Allow the cake to stand for about 30 minutes, giving the rice paper time to bond with the icing underneath.

4) Accent with multi-colored candy confetti!

Very cool! Raggs is one of those little-known kids shows. Maybe this lens can be part of a cult following ;-)

My little girl Lucy is 7 months old (today!) She adores the Raggs characters and could sit and watch them all day long. She is a true fan. Im thinking of having a Raggs themed party for her 1st bday. Well at the very least a beautiful paws cake!! Just wanted to show my support for this show and the persons behind it - you are all lifesavers!
