Use free water!

Ever wonder how such a waste it is to watch rain water run down storm drains and thought to yourself what you could do with all that free natural water? No?? Read on...

Mother Nature's generosity

Don't waste it

As one of the most abundant and consistently available resources in the world, rain water has its value aside from the eerie ability to make cold and gloomy days. There's an obvious problem oblivious to us all who use water on a daily basis. Our reliance on the municipal water supply tends to mask the outlook of the bigger picture. The microcosmic crisis to us wasting water is the concern over our water bill. And the macrocosmic being the overarching veiled problem, the omnipresent threat of a limited supply of freshwater available for daily consumption of a growing population.

So whether you ask yourself "What can one person do in the face of such a global problem?" or simply "What can I do to save myself some money every month on my water bill?" a rain barrel might just be the significant alternative for those looking to be pro-active about conservation.

Make Your Garden a Happy Garden

First, stop using the hose on it

A rain barrel is exactly what it sounds like - a barrel for catching rain. But don't be deceived by its simplicity once you realize its significance. One need not be a recreational gardener to appreciate a barrel full of natural rain water. We all water our plants and lawn, but we don't need to waste water from the hose to do so. Rain barrels harvest water from the gutters of your home after downpours and should be mainly used to water your garden or even wash your cars. Your lawn and garden will benefit from rain water the most since it is pure and chemical-free. Water from the city is filtered and treated and is in fact less beneficial to plants and gardens. Much like natural sunlight, natural water will make your garden flourish.

Watch how it's done.

Pretty cool, huh?
