Raise Your Salary

Try to imagine quite a large factory of workers a large place of employment that has a notice board so that the employers could post general information to its staff. One morning as the workers take their place for the shift the memo written on this board simply says "All employees requiring pay rise contact main office". What do you think would be the response? Here I think we can agree it would be total unless this company had any complete dummies on their pay role. In effect all this proves is that everyone in this environment would indeed like a little more money than they are presently getting.

Trusting you follow the point that I am trying to develop, taking the same factory with the same notice board but a completely different message. Try to estimate the percentage result from the work force if the notice read "Paid overtime available contact main office". So now where would you place the rate of response? At this point I feel sure that we would agree the rate of pay for the overtime would dictate the volume of response from the workers. Examples would be that time and 1/3 is not going to achieve the level of interest that time and a half would or even time and three quarters. No the question is at what rate of pay would the notice board attract all the staff with this message as it did with the first. There is of course no definite answer to that hypothetically.

Raise Your Salary

The fact is that all we have succeeded to accomplish so far is to recognize all people would like a little more money but not so many are prepared to work any extra for it unless very suitably enticed. Which is fair enough and indeed the way it should be. Therefore, we can now ask what should the enticement be for our best result, quite simply in our imaginary factory all we have to do is experiment by writing the time pay figure on the board until we have enough applicants to get the job done.

Let us at this point take time out to examine what has actually been happening at our imaginary factory. By skilful use of only a blackboard and chalk the management has been manipulating the workforce in certain directions, whilst we could make much more of this point what we should best see from this example is that people's eyes and wants can be moved or better we should say motivated towards greater incomes. This however on its own is invariably not enough. If we were to look at the first applicants in the queue for whichever of the two different notices we have displayed then we would discover the same reason the parties, men or women, were first inline. Without a shadow of a doubt this would be that they had a need, a reason, a requirement, in fact a goal which could be furthered by the money involved.

Now so far all of this is pretty much basic, you have lived with it all your life, but do you know that everybody else you may currently envy, sees things pretty much the same. Few people realise that just about everyone in the world works to make ends meet, the difference always is only size of those ends. More simply stated these so called ends are just the goals in life which people set for themselves. The only time where the true difference applies is when you know how to set these goals yourself and stop just simply trusting to luck.

Whilst this may now start to be a little stronger of a pill to swallow, let me qualify it by saying that all people who are luckier than the average do it by simply planning it first, which in short is again goal setting. The really big advantage comes when an individual man or woman has been assisted even educated towards full understanding of this incredible talent, which has with any other item of human endeavour has. Those who by more application and practice lead the field and thereby collect the trophies.
