Take Care of Fleas Naturally, Without Harsh Chemicals
Natural Flea Remedies You Will Find Here
Fleas are a Problem for any Pet Owner
When a dog constantly scratches, nibbles and licks his body due to a flea infestation, can you endure it? I know I hate the sound of my dog scratching or licking constantly, it makes me crazy. One of the worst but very common issues amongst dog owners is the infestation of fleas. Besides being very painful and horrible to your dog, it also is harmful for humans. Fleas can jump 100 times their size or up to six feet, which means that even if you keep Fido 6 feet away from a flea infested dog, he could pretty easily get this tiny critters.
Commercial Flea Products
Not Good For Your Pet
While commercial flea preventive techniques are very much effective, the harmful traces of chemicals that they leave behind can have a permanent damage to your pet's health. Here are some better and more natural alternatives to putting harmful chemicals on your beloved pet.The following are some proven techniques on how to get rid of these pesky fleas without having to use of poisonous chemicals.
Garlic as a Natural Flea Deterrent
One of the most natural ways of keeping fleas at bay is by feeding your dog some garlic. Garlic, when eaten by the dog, is secreted through their glands and fleas just hate their smell. However, extra precaution should be taken into consideration because too much garlic can cause serious problems for dogs. Make sure you give only a small amount, about 1/8 of a teaspoon, every two days. Other Natural Flea Repellent Options
Apple Cider Vinegar
If you don't want to take the risk of feeding your dog garlic, how about fill a spray bottle with one part apple cider vinegar and three parts water? If the flea infestation is severe, you could even increase the amount of apple cider vinegar to 1/2 of the entire solution. Simply spray your dog with this solution, giving extra attention to armpits, paws and neck. Have You Ever Had to Deal With a Flea Problem
Pennyroyal Oil
One of the oldest techniques in getting rid of fleas which dates back to the Roman period is by using Pennyroyal oil mixed with water. For about one cup of water, put at least 10 drops of Pennyroyal oil and mix thoroughly. Proceed the same way as you would with the apple cider vinegar solution. Brewer's Yeast
You could also feed your dog a small amount of brewer's yeast as it has the same effect with garlic. However, these tips are strictly for dogs. Never try to use these for cats since cats are more sensitive to these ingredients than dogs. Natural Flea Products From My Favorite Store

Natural Lawn Treatment for Fleas
These beneficial nematodes control fleas by killing them in the larval and pupal stages in the soil where they live, breaking the life cycle so your pets are less likely to become infested. Follow the simple extracting and dilution instructions-then apply the nematodes to your lawn with a handheld sprayer, hose end sprayer or watering can. They're nontoxic and can be used around children and pets. You can spray them in your flower and vegetable gardens, too. Five million nematodes cover 300 sq. ft. Nematodes must be applied when soil temperatures are 55-85°F.

- Our cats have intermittent flea problems. The vet wants them all on Advantage, but we try to go natural. We use FleaBusters on the carpets, and that helps a lot.

- We live in the country and fleas can be a problem at certain times of the year. I have used the vinegar technique and it does work. One of our dogs has very sensitive skin though so she needs a bath soon after that.
