Tips on Buying a Raketa Watch

Raketa is a brand of watches manufactured in Russia. The company is best known for their 24 hour watches -- watches that show all 24 hours in the day instead of just 12.

Raketa watches are inexpensive. Many models sell for around $40.

They use mechanical movements. That means they must be manually wound.

Why Buy a Raketa Watch?

Buy it if the style grabs you

Most people buy Raketa watches simply because they like the style. The watch face is unique. Some might call it "retro". It's not hard to imagine citizens of the old cold-war-era Soviet Union walking around the frozen streets of Moscow sporting a Raketa watch.

Another reason to buy a Raketa watch is the price. They are inexpensive. Many models sell for under $40. Some purchasers consider them a novelty or add them to their watch collection as a conversation starter.

Note that Raketa watches use mechanical movements. That means you will have to wind it up. There is no battery inside.

Although Raketa watches are not high-quality precision instruments, they do keep reasonably accurate time and are fairly priced.

The straps provided are not necessarily of the best quality. Often changing the strap greatly enhances the look, feel and image of the watch.

Thanks. These watches are a little hard to find. Can't really find a major online store that has them. I guess I will go with eBay.
