Who is Ralph Fiennes

Ranked #47,559 in Entertainment, #563,530 overall

Britain's Fiennest Export

The first time I saw Ralph Fiennes on screen was in Schindler's List. Because his performance was so excellent, I took note of him, but didn't go all girly crush on him because he was playing a disgusting, violent Nazi.  However, when Quiz Show was being promoted, I definitely sat up.  I remember saying to my boyfriend, "Hmmm, that guy looks familiar.  He's cute."

After Quiz Show came Strange Days, a movie I also loved (and still love a LOT), but it wasn't until The English Patient that I fell completely head over heels for Mr. Fiennes.  Such a beautiful and tragic movie, I saw it twelve times in the movie theater after seeing it for the first time at its official premiere in Los Angeles.

While he has had a few fits, starts and false turns over the years (Maid in Manhattan, anyone?), overall, Ralph Fiennes delivers one amazing performance after another -- both on screen and on stage.

My Favorite Ralph Fiennes Movies on DVD

These are just a few of my top favorite Ralph Fiennes' movies, but there's at least half a dozen others I really love as well.

Spider on DVD

I love Cronenberg and I love Ralph Fiennes and this is an nice off-putting movie. Well worth a rental. Miranda Richardson was really terrific in it and there was something just creepy about the whole thing. Ralph does crazy well. He doesn't overplay the character.
