"Ramen to the Rescue is chock full of ideas on creative ways to use ramen noodles. I'll admit, I haven't revisited ramen since college days, but this book makes me want to run to the store and stock up on a few packets. I particularly enjoyed Harlan's intro that delves into the history of ramen, how it is made and tips on how to stock your pantry to make the recipes with ease. While there are lots of Asian inspired dishes, you'll also find surprises like Ramen-Breaded Onion Rings, Chicken Pot Pie, Ramen Alfredo and Lemon-Ginger Cheesecake with Ramen Crust. I can't wait to start cooking!" - Amazon reviewer 'TimeForGoodFood'

The History of Top Ramen

Ramen Noodles originated in China. They were discovered there and brought over to by Japanese travelers.

In 1958, Momofuku Ando, who totally loved ramen Noodles, as did most of Japan, discovered a way to dehydrate the noodles so they could be brought back to tasty life just using water. With this discovery, Ando started Nissin Foods and a revolution in the Ramen Noodle industry and as they say.....the rest is history!

In a Japanese poll, Ramen Noodles by Nissin Foods, was voted the greatest invention in Japanese history for the 20th Century. That tops inventions like the Sony Walkman, the compact disc and the PC!
