Rancho quickLIFT Shocks
Rancho quickLIFT shocks are the quick way to add lift to your vehicle. The quickLIFT is both a suspension lift and a high-performance shock absorber built into one unit. Each application has been specifically engineered for that vehicle to provide a maximum amount of lift of up to 2.5-inches while providing optimal driving quality and comfort.
How Do They Work?
Rancho quickLIFT shocks are simple in concept. They replace your vehicle's coil-over shock (found primarliy in the front of most vehicles) with a new shock that preloads the coil spring thus pushing the axle or A-arm away from the chassis resulting in an instant lift.
Something important to understand about Rancho quickLIFT shock applications is that most of the vehicles they're produced for do not need rear lift -- only front lift -- and therefore a rear quickLIFT shock is not available. This may not sound logical, but bear with me. Most trucks and SUVs (especially the 4WD models, but you will see this on some 2WD models too) have what's called a "raked stance". This means that the front of the vehicle sits lower than the rear, hence the term "raked". Why do manufacturers produce their vehicles with a raked stance? They do this for towing or hauling purposes so that when the vehicle is loaded down with extra weight, the rear end will sit level with the front rather than sagging lower than the front. So for the majority of applications, the quickLIFT will raise only the front of the vehicle which will now give it a level stance. This is why rear quickLIFTS are not necessary in most applications.
Another reason why quickLIFT shocks are not availabe for most rear applications is because most vehicles don't have rear coil-over shocks.
Now, there will be instances whereby the vehicle comes from the factory with a level stance AND it does not have a rear coil-over shock setup. Obviously, installing a quickLIFT on the front of these vehicles will cause the front end to sit higher than the rear causing a reverse-raked stance. To accomodate these vehicles, Rancho produces a spring spacer kit that will raise the rear of the vehicle making it level with the front.
Below is a guide for all domestic and import Rancho quickLIFT applications. As stated above, quickLIFT shocks are not available for the rear of all applications because not all vehicles have rear coil-over shocks. If the part number shown for the rear has been marked with an asterisk * then that means it is an RS9000XL part number. RS9000XL shocks are recommended by Rancho to be used in combination with quickLIFT shocks. If the part number has been marked with two asterisks ** then that means the supplemental spacer kit must also be used.
