First off, i will write a module totally dedicated to the user who doesnt want to spend alot of money, and maybe has one or two sites that they would like on the first page of google. The only prerequisate is that you have a website, this website doesnt exactly have to be indexed or high up on google already, that is why your here after all!

The First step of google domination is first finding a good keyword to rank for. This should be a keyword with people searching for it every day, not just getting some results every month. If you have a website that is souly created to sell cat food you would want a keyword like "cat food" or maybe "wet cat food" / "dry cat food" You want to pick a keyword that when people search in google, they are looking for something to buy.

Finding your keyword:
The best way to find your keyword, and information about the keyword is to look on Google! This is the website you will be using:

You can see the photo that shows you how to properly set up the page, so you are not reading misleading information. We switch Broad to Phrase because it shows us who searched those specific words in that specific order. I personally set a search filter, to get rid of the keywords that dont get that many searches per month, but this is completely up to you wether you wanna filter your results.
I suggest that you go for a keyword with no less then 600 searches per month, This will mean about 20 people are searching the keyword daily, and if your the top ranking for that keyword, im sure you will get atleast 50% of the traffic (iv noticed more like 75%).
It should also be noted that i have switched United States over to All Countries, because i sell products that dont require shipping, and why would i care if some one in Europe wants to purchase my goods? If you are selling something locally you might wanna keep that as your country.

If you cannot find a keyword that relates to your website and that has a good search base, your out of luck. I have never came across the instance where one of my websites didnt have a good keyword to tag along with it, But i thought i would say this to the 1% chance that some one wont be able to find a decent keyword.

Let it be known that i have ranked #4 for a keyword that has 10,000+ searches per month, so dont let a high search base scare you, what does matter is the amount of comptetion. Im sorry to say, but this is not a tactic to getting you #1 on google when you have a million other people trying to rank for the same word. I look for more like 100,000 - 150,000 competition. Competition can be found easily by typing your keyword with parenthesis around them ("keyword") you simple look at the "About xxxx results" if the xxxx are under 150k you will be able to rank on the first page for that keyword.
