I've been a die hard rapala fisherman for as long as I can remember and one of my favorites was the rapala shad rap. Then when I heard rapala revamped this amazing lure I was almost in shock. How the Rapala X Rap was designed
The Rapala X Rap was designed to answer the needs and wants from fisherman asking for a better improved version of the shad rap lure series. Fisherman wanted the reliability and action of the shad rap packaged up into a better, "slashbait".A slashbait is a more advanced version of your daddies jerbait. But what makes the X Rap such a great "slashbait" is because there are more ways to fish this crankbait then your standard jerkbait side to side retrieves. And that's what Rapala set out to do when they comdined the best of the jerkbaits with the action and fishability of the shad raps.
Plus Rapala added a new feature inside this lure a proprietary long cast system that works by shifting weights forward during casting. This is an excellent feature and a step forward in fishing lure design. By using a weight shift system the X-Rap is able to be cast easily and accurately.
