SINCE BECOMING A LENSMASTER I'VE NOTICED THAT ABOUT 98% OF READERS DO NOT RATE THE LENS. IT DOESN'T SEEM TO MATTER IF THE LENS THE READER JUST READ WAS HELPFUL OR NOT. IF THE LENS LOOKS LIKE THE LENSMASTER PUT SOME REAL EFFORT INTO IT AND HAS INTERESTING CONTENT, WOULD IT PUT A CRAMP IN YOUR LITTLE FINGER TO MOUSE UP AND CLICK ON ONE OF THE STARS?
THIS LENS IS ALL ABOUT RATING SQUIDOO LENSES!!!
RATING A LENS
It Takes A Lensmaster To Rate A Lens
Let me ask you a question. If a person happens to land on your lens for whatever reason and he or she reads it and finds it helpful, wouldn't you like to see your lens rated by that person? Even if that person didn't find your lens helpful but thought "hey, that is a really nice lens", wouldn't you still like to have your lens rated by that person?
C'MON, FOLKS!!!! IT'S NOT THAT HARD TO GRAB AHOLD OF YOUR MOUSE AND CLICK ON A STAR!!!! I mean it's not like the lensmaster has asked you to jump off a tall building. And the very best part about it.......IT DOESN'T COST YOU A PENNY!!!!
So the next time you read someone's lens, whether it was helpful or not, won't ya just go ahead and click on a star?
Now I can understand if you've read one of those lenses out there, and they are out there, that are just plain useless. The ones who create a title, put in their name and call it a lens. I can understand you not rating one of those. But one that makes real sense deserves to be rated.
From today on I am going to make a real effort to make sure I rate those great lenses that I come across. Won't you do the same?

- I'm one of those Squids who also notices visitors on my lenses, and yet they didn't bother to rate. And I do find it annoying, especially when I'm putting hours into my lenses and no one cares enough to acknowledge it or at least message me to tell me what I'm doing wrong. So I REALLY appreciate your honesty on this lens...

- Here's another reason Squidoo should rethink their rating system.

- At Amazon.com you have to write a review to rank a product. When a review is about three words long and two are misspelled, people know what weight to give it. Squidoo's anonymous ratings are far less useful. Nonetheless, I agree that honestly rating lenses is beneficial. Bear in mind that you are rating the lens NOT whether or not you agree with the author.

- Hmmm...I don't know why my blurb didn't seem to make it the first time..but here it is again..lol.
Thank you for writing this lens! I was wondering the same thing...why don't people rate the lens?
I am new, I have done 2 lenses and have been visited 18 times but was only rated 5 times between the both of them. Maybe they are just being kind?..lol. I didn't realize that maybe some of the visitors/lensmasters didn't know how to, or that you even could rate the lenses. Whew...that makes me feel a lot better. I'm going to chalk up my lack of ratings to visitors not knowing how to rate them. Better than thinking my lenses are stinky..lol.
Anyway...great lens! 5*'s for sure!

- I definitely appreciate and love your lens. Right to the point! ;) Love it!
I am new at this and am so excited to when I get a rating, or a blurb,,,or favored! I have noticed people visiting my lens', but ....sadly only a couple actually rated it, favored it or left a comment. I wondered about this myself,,,why don't readers leave "their mark"? I am happy to see that a big reason for it is because they didn't know how, or didn't know they could.
I do rate and /or leave a message on every lens I visit. Some I favor because I want to go back to it later, or I want to see what the writer comes up with next. Again thank you for writing this much needed lens! 5*'s!! ;)

- So you want a rating no matter what it is, right? If I give you three stars, you won't be mad?
Lots of folks get mad if they get rated less than 5 stars. For that reason, I decline to rank unless I honestly feel it's a five star lens.

- There's a growing consensus in America that marijuana laws are too harsh and often counterproductive. Nonetheless a "Reefer Madness" mentality persists among some people. I wrote a lens about herbal vaporizers that I thought was pretty interesting and informative, but it only took six lifetime hits for the trolls to zero in on it. I do virtually all of my writing at The Whole Ed Cata-Blog now.

- Yes, of course I want to tell you about my lens'! I have 2 so far and it is very exciting to have done them. The first one I did is called Dress Your Deck, and the 2nd one is called First Apartment Essentials. I used my own pictures because I don't know a thing about Flickr etc...do you pay for the pics, do you need permission. Hell, I can't seeem to even navigate through that site let alone figure out how to get pictures from it. (I'll learn someday).
Dress your deck is basically about making your deck inviting, functional and fun, and First Apartment Essentials is about the smaller and often little thought of items a person who's moving out on their own might not think of. (ice cube trays, flashlight, etc). It's actually sort of a checklist.
Anyway...thanks for askin' PuddinTane.

I have started with my introduction then I decided to squidilili ( check out lenses, discover buttons) and give people starz. I just gave you 5 starz, I found it funny because you were screaming. Might scare lil squids.
