The official atheist vs. theist duel starts here. *gets popcorn*
Is there objective proof for the existence of a god?

milligence says:
If God were to create something (by definition if it esists it must play by the laws of physics) and scientists were to discover its workings, how would scientists separate this thing from the other things which are caused by things God may or may not have created.
Scientists would explain its workings and remove God from the equation much like one can cancel denominators that may become zero by multiplying both sides.
Believers and non-believers are together guilty of confirmation bias.
I'm a bit disturbed by this notion of eradicating belief. You can't get rid of the pattern by removing the labels though you probably could get yourselves and others stuck in circles that way.
I get concerned when anyone is on a mission. It means their ego got caught somewhere between the wheel and the transmission.
I'll give you something else both believers and non-believers should be united against:
#1 Fornication of Church and State
#2 Symmetry and identity fetishes (if anyone wants to know what they are just ask)
#3 Structure fetishes are ok in the beginning but don't get too attached to them
#4 Get all the social architects in office to step off their high horse and install a few engineers in their place

No

Don't be silly, of course not. But wouldn't it be cool if there was and no religion past or present mentioned his name? "Hey, I created you, call me Chuck."

Of course not. If there was, Fox would have it on an endless loop

Don says:
Objectivity requires reason and logic. Mysticism of any kind is subjective and whimsical.

What do you consider yourself?
Religiously, at least

God is unthinkable, no shape, no form.., we never know where we will born or what kind of form we are, you look for God? it's inside you, inside everything in this universe as we are part of God it self, this life in universe is running like a nerve system in God body, look for hell? this life is hell.. we are bound with our ego, bound with our 5th sense that makes us feel happy, sad, pain etc.. bound with this weak body that we have to give feed everyday, bound with our identity... what more worst than this? There's no live after death but a circle of life, look for
heaven? be wise, we were born as humanrace is also a gift, we have a freedom way of life, we can
be what we want it to be, but search for heaven is breaking those circle of life, so you will never be born, you have no form, no shape, just nothing.. as no eternal thing in this life but nothing and then you will become one with God as unthinkable.
meaning of life? just one, to become one & breaking the circle of life

Excellent lens, Kelly!
You probably don't remember our discussion on Stirrdup but I've rotated more towards your point of view these days, I think.
I was coming off a marriage to a theist and was too wound up in keeping the peace to be as blunt as you are. I have no such issues any more and the more I relate with atheists on the Internet the more I see that avoiding confrontation is not the answer.
I'm no longer the little kid afraid of another beating by Christians - I'm a grown up all pissed off about having been the little kid who took those beatings. I'm also a person who is all pissed off that I allowed a religious spouse to suppress my freedom of speech to avoid confrontation.
You were right, we can pull no punches and be true to ourselves.

Kylyssa
