OMG! She is actually doing it!

I am going to school. Finally. I will be keeping track of what classes I am taking and how I am doing in each. I hope that by doing this, I will be able to keep track of myself, help my friends and family know how I am doing and to help people who may be looking for a career in OT find out what they may have to do.

I will be attending Owens State Community College in Toledo, Ohio. For those who may be interested in what the college has to offer, please go to Owens Community College

Where is Owens CC?

Glad You Asked!

For those of you not familure to Owens and are wondering where it may be, I will show you.

Planning Ahead

What I hope to take next semester and then there after.

After the Fall Semester, I will apply for evaluation for the 1st (and hopfully only) time for the OTA program. After this point I will apply for evaluation near the end of each semester until accepted.

I am thinking about making my Spring 2009 Semester look like this:

  • Fundamentals of Computing Systems-IST100-1 Credit Hour

  • General Psychology-PSY101-3 Credit Hours

  • Anatomy and Physiology I-BIO211-4 Credit Hours

  • Interpersonal Communications-SPE102-3 Credit Hours

  • Multiculteral Diversity In the U.S.-SOC220-3 Credit Hours

This would make a possible Summer 2009 Schedule:

  • Life Span Psychology-PSY260-3 Credit Hours

  • Anatomy and Physiology II-BIO212-4 Credit Hours

  • Abnormal Psychology-PSY220-3 Credit Hours

Photobucket

These are OTA specific classes that I can not take until I am accepted for Evaluation. If all goes well, my Fall 2009 will be:

  • Introduction to OTA-OTA100-1 Credit Hour

  • OTA Clinical Lab-OTA101-1 Credit Hour

  • Occupational Therapy Assistant I-OTA110-3 Credit Hours

  • OTA Practice Skills I-OTA111-2 Credit Hours

  • Occupational Therapy Assistant II-OTA120-3 Credit Hours

  • OTA Practice Skills II-OTA121-3 Credit Hours

Then Spring 2010;

  • Applied OP Analysis-OTA122-3 Credit Hours

  • Occupational Therapy Assistant III-OTA200-2 Credit Hours

  • OTA Practice Skills III-OTA211-2 Credit Hours

  • Applied OP Analysis II-OTA222-3 Credit Hours

  • OTA Applications I-OTA223-4 Credit Hours

And finally Summer 2010:

  • OTA Applications II-OTA243-10 Credit Hours

and then onto BGSU!

This is where you tell me how jealous of me you are, or to make fun of me because I am not doing as well as I hoped, or what ever the situation calls for ;)

Ravyn

About Ravyn

I am a 28 year old mother of 3 children. I enjoy every moment I can with them. I have a high interest in photography and music among many other things.

I have been taking photos for a long time though I am not a professional. I enjoy capturing a moment, a thought, and even a state of being.

My favorite thing to take pictures of, other than my childen, are storms. I also enjoy photos of nature (trees, flowers and animals), buildings and people.

My photos will generally reflect my mood at the time. I will find the beauty in almost anything.

I have also been playing the violin since I was 10 years old. I have enjoyed playing many different styles and would love to have been apart local guest of the Trans-Syberian Orchestra. Unfortunately I no long have my violin.

My children give me alot of inspiration. They are so strong willed and expressive. They are not afraid of emotion or to show their feelings. They are wonderful little people with alot of lessons to teach me. They are also excellent listeners for me to teach. I love them so dearly and thank them for everything they have given to me.

My current ambition is to go back to school. which I am doing. I will be studying to become an Occupational Therapist.
