Raw Vegetable Diet - Yes or No?

A raw vegetable diet is an excellent and healthy way to lose weight. But in my opinion this is only a temporary solution. Your body needs other nutrients too which you will not find in a raw food diet.

Raw Vegetable Diet Cookbooks

Want to go for a raw vegetable diet? Then a cookbook full of raw meal plans will be a great help. Find out the details of 2 of them.

One of the best raw cookbook items to add to your collection is 'Raw', by Charlie Trotter and Roxanne Klein. This book has all the ideas you'll need to make a raw feast for family and friends, whether you're having a social get-together, or want to make something a little different for family dinner. The book shows you that there is more to the raw diet than sprouts and broccoli. You can use dehydrated vegetables for a great soup even the kids will love, or you can decorate your dish with honeycomb mounds and smoked nuts for tasty garnish that will compliment your raw dish well. There are even wine notes included in the book from Jason Smith, which means you can use your upscale dishes to impress guests as well.

Jennifer Cornbleet's book, 'Raw Food Made Easy: for One or Two People' is also a great resource when it comes to preparing small meals that are completely raw and delicious. If you're afraid that eating raw is just too much work, this book will give you simple solutions for breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with time-saving tips that will have you out of the kitchen even sooner than you think. This raw cookbook is definitely a good 'starter' item and you'll find that you'll enjoy eating the dishes as much as you liked preparing them.

Use Your Common Sense When You Go On a Diet

Many people just stop eating or they eat only one
meal a day, thinking they will just cut out all the
calories. DON'T DO THAT!

When you deprive your body of food, your body will
react and go into survival mode, taking what it
needs from wherever it can. That can lead to very
serious consequences! It can put you in the
hospital, or worse, the morgue!

One suggestion is to SLOWLY cut back on what you eat. Instead of 3 spoonfuls of food, cut back to 2.
The key is to not send a message to your brain that you are starving.
And yes, there is a difference between feeling hungry versus starving!
It will take some time to train your stomach and your brain on your new
routine. Just please do not rush it.

Remember: Small Steps!

Just Now And Then Reward Yourself

When you are starting off, reward yourself for your
achievements. Give yourself an extra cookie. Go out and buy a new pair of shoes.

JUST DON'T OVERDO IT!
As you lose more and more weight, continue to
reward yourself. Here's a way to do it: As you
make larger goals, make larger rewards available. As you create your new goal, find something you really want. Perhaps you have been eyeballing a nice outfit at the mall. Or maybe you want a new iPhone!

By creating a longer term goal, with a nice reward awaiting you when you achieve that goal you are more likely to succeed.
