Heal Yourself with Raw Food: How Fruits and Vegetables can Change your Life

This lens is all about promoting the philosophy of the raw food diet.  Demi Moore does it, and Alicia Silverstone does it, so why not do it too? I have always admired Demi Moore's complexion, and since I had been suffering from blemishes up into my 30's, I wanted to see if eating fruits and vegetables could help my skin too. I tried it for two days eating nothing but vegetables and fruit and within that short amount of time, my skin cleared up perfectly. (Although I can't say it's stayed that way-I do like to cheat sometimes) But it so impressed me that I decided to start a blog about it. If you want to see my progress, my site is at

http://rawawareness.blogspot.com

It's all about being aware of the healing properties of those foods that we rarely get enough servings of (like vegetables), and how eating them by themselves can release their medicinal properties so the body get back to optimum health.

Why not just eat more fruit and vegetables with the standard diet?

The theory behind the raw food diet, and the reason why you may not have felt the complete healing effects of fruits and vegetables with the standard diet, is because the body spends so much time digesting cooked foods that it has hardly any time to digest fruits and vegetables. Cooked meats like steak and chicken can take up to 4 days to digest, whereas fruits and vegetables take only hours. If we can cut out all the cooked food and just eat the fruits and vegetables, then the body can digest them more completely and start releasing their healing effects on the body.

I've heard many incredible stories about how the raw food diet helped people get rid of ailments such as asthma, multiple sclerosis, and diabetes. I've even heard of it helping crippled people get up out of wheelchairs, and change some people's eye colors back to blue. These might be very extreme cases but they were all the more reason to try it myself and see what kinds of health benefits I could experience.

Now, I don't have any diseases, I'm not in a wheelchair, but I do have other things I would like to improve, such as getting a leaner slimmer body, improving my eyesight, maybe even repairing minor brain injuries that I've had since I was a kid (hardly noticeable ones, but there all the same.)

"Raw Awareness" talks about my daily journey starting out on the diet as well as personal insights I've had along the way.

It also offers tips on:
While you are there, you can also read about my sometimes humorous, sometimes thought provoking, but always interesting day to day blogs :)

Hi, I love this information, especialy since I have tried (yet again) to go raw. This time I have succeed nearly 80 percent. I was doing fine when I restarted a few months ago, but as the weather changed, those chilly days and nights had me running for hot soups and drinks and anything that would keep Mr. Frost from nibbling at my fingers and toes. I've decided, I can only be a summer raw foodist. But watch what I eat in the winter.

    Hi

I'm the one who created this site, Thankyou for all your comments people :") It's quite humbling.

I just want to say that, after trying the "raw food diet" on and off and on and off, that it wasn't practical to eat all fruits veggies nuts and herbs only.

I had to incorporate many other meats and cooked foods.

And I'm still learning how to eat for my body type.

So we;re all just in this for the long haul.

You can try it, this diet, if you think it will work for you.

But if after a few hours you cant stick to it, then do whatever you want.

Noone's a "failure" just because they can't "stick" to this diet.

Try everything. Eat all kinds of food.

I'd only suggest you pet an animal first before deciding if you should eat it. :(

I love being a vegetarian. Maybe this should have been a vegetarian blog instead.

Well, anyway, hope you enjoyed reading this far.

After all I've said, it is only my opinion on such matters. Be kind to yourselve, pls.
