Why I love the Kindle

I make no secret about my love of the Amazon Kindle. I think it's an amazing device, and I carry mine with me everywhere. Here's why:
* It's incredibly easy to read books.
* I have wireless access to the Internet wherever I am.
* I can take notes and highlight something if I want to cite it in a paper or blog post.
* I can take a screen shot and download it to my computer.
* Auto-scroll lets me read while knitting.
* The Kindle has a great battery life-- I only have to charge it up about once a week.
* I don't have to use a Windows machine or special software to transfer ebooks to it.
* Amazon offers sample previews for most of its books.
* If it's a new release book, I can probably get it on the Kindle.

?Red Staple and Folium Book Studio, both released in January, offer self-service online tools to convert your books into the ePub format, which, in turn, can be uploaded for Amazon's Kindle, Barnes & Noble's Nook, Apple's iPad and Sony's E-Reader, ...
Amazon's next device: you'll find it in your living room
Its Kindle is a sort of apotheosis: an e-reader to which it can sell content (and no direct rival can). The Kindle is its perfect lock-in. Except, of course, that Amazon has loads of video content. That doesn't work on the e-ink Kindle.
Why ebooks have problems with fonts, footnotes and typos
Here at Computeractive we have been enthusiastic about ebooks (electronic books), particularly since the appearance of reliable devices on which to read them, such as the Amazon Kindle and Sony Reader. But they're not without problems.
