Usual complaints about buying foreclosures
People always go to the extremes. While you can theoretically get a house for $10000, you would rarely be allowed to do it. This is because the houses are auctioned, and no one will let you have it for so little money.
On the other side, you definitely can get a bargain, but you should know what you are doing and you should invest in learning before bidding, since you could very well end up bidding more than is necessary and after taking care of all the charges and commissions generated you could end up not getting such a great bargain.
