The horrified father who took this picture, was taking an ordinary photograph of his family. Little did he realise that the family snap was anything but ordinary.

A good quality camera

Use the best camera you can find, preferably digital with a flash. This will make the analysis process a lot easier. A camera is the single most important piece of ghost hunting equipment. There are some things such as orbs that the naked eye just can't see, cameras will provide the proof.

A powerful torch

If you are conducting your investigation at night (like most people tend to do) then always take a powerful torch with you, especially if your camera doesn't have a flash.

A video camera

Most people like to bring a video camera with them to document the events and try and collect evidence. This is not essential but recommended. If you can then use a digital camera for easy computer transfer. I would also bring a tripod, there is nothing worse than trying to analyse choppy footage.

A sound recorder

This will be for recording EVP. I would use a digital sound recorder if you can. When you are recording EVP with analogue recorders then you are suppose to use background noise, with digital recorders you don't need this. They also generally hold more memory and can be easily transferred onto a computer.

Analysis software

Trying to analyse the footage, pictures, sound recordings and notes from a ghost hunt can be a very time consuming and stressful task, especially when you are trying to cross reference data from certain times. There is some great software designed for paranormal investigators out there designed purely for data analysis.

As you can see, you don't need a huge amount of ghost hunting equipment to conduct an investigation. If you don't have any of this gear then ask a friend or neighbour. Just make sure you treat everything with respect.

The Below real ghost picture was a photo of a friends house, the amazing part is that the picture was just a snap of my friends house and nobody was meant to be in the picture. So it is a mystery to who the person is in the picture. This is the reason that I have classed this as a real ghost picture, because the ghostly figure was not there when the picture was taking.

Director James Cameron does everything on a mammoth scale. After viewing this DVD, I wish I had seen the 3-D version. This is an exhaustive search of the remains of the Titanic. The inner portions of the ship are explored with two mini robots and the two submersibles with the director, actor Bill Paxton and the crew members aboard. This is at over 2.5 miles deep. Paxton adds some human humor/drama with the crew, but the real star is the ship. Starting from the stormy surface waters to the calm, eerie depths of the North Atlantic, Cameron leaves nothing out. There are still glasses and plates peacefully resting where they were left on that fateful night. Brass beds lay intact. Particular rooms of celebrity passengers are found with items left as they were. This is miraculous, as the ship spun wildly around in its' decent, spewing debris everywhere. Stained glass is still intact everywhere and the robot lights cast magical colors and shadows throughout. Cameron puts everything in perspective by frequently superimposing transparent actors dressed in period clothes strolling the deck. These "ghosts" add true scale to the Titanic.
The 90-minute version adds more information about the sea-life existing around the Titanic with comments from Dr. Lori Johnston. More of the Captain's personal life is explored as well as life aboard the state of the art research vessel. The 'making of' feature, "Reflections of the Deep" is interesting and includes some more information, but not a great deal more insight. "The ROV Experience" is more for the technically minded, but fun to experience. For extras, not much beats this collection, but glorious excess is what James Cameron is all about and he does justice to the Titanic.

A group of salvagers are given the chance to set their sights on the Antonia Graza which disappeared over forty years ago. They eventually find the ship (in a pretty spectacular way) and go aboard. The past is present and the present is disturbing (to say the least). Intercut with scenes to explain the goings-on aboard the ship before it vanished this is a strong film and rates as one of my all time favourites. Many years ago I saw a film called Deathship and after seeing Ghost Ship I set about tracing Deathship on VHS (it is unlikely to be ever on DVD) and it still had it's moments. Ghost Ship isn't perfect but it is very close from my POV. It does contain gore but I don't feel a film needs gore to be successful.

The South Shields Poltergeist

In the summer of 2006, Darren W. Ritson was asked to investigate a "haunting" in an unassuming, ordinary terraced house in the town of South Shields, Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND. Darren asked another veteran researcher, Michael J. Hallowell, to accompany him.

During the subsequent months the authors made literally dozens of visits to the house in question, and witnessed first-hand the malevolent, sadistic power of the poltergeist. It was an experience they would never forget.

Initially, the entity just tried to scare the family by moving various objects around the house and making mysterious banging noises - the kind of behaviour that always been attributable to poltergeist activity. However, as the weeks went on, the entity's activity took on a more threatening and evil aspect. The following examples are just a few of the tactics employed by the South Shield's Poltergeist to intimidate both the family and the paranormal investigators:

1. Death threats sent to the mobile phone of one of the members of the experients.

2. A toilet cistern filled with blood, which then mysteriously vanished.

3. Knives thrown at both the investigators and the experients.

4. Appearing as a malevolent, silhouette-type entity in front of both the experients and the investigators.

5. Slashing the body of one of the experients with dozens of cuts during filming.

6. Talking to investigators and TV reporters through a number of children's toys.

Eventually, thanks to the help of several experts from a number of different professional, forensic, academic and investigative backgrounds, the authors were able to terminate the reign of terror that the South Shields Poltergeist had wreaked - a reign of terror that had lasted for almost a whole year.
