For the New Lemons Coming Soon Try This Lemonade Recipe
The lemonade I make starts with lemons from the backyard trees. What can be simpler than that? One tree is a Meyer's lemon and one is a lime. The Meyer's is small because I keep it that way. It was placed in an area on the slope that is not ideal and others in the family think it is too dangerous to move it. It might die. Three feet from it is the lime bush. It is naturally small and is easy to control.
I do not know what caused it but both trees have fruits without seeds. Makes for easy lemonade making and squeezing flavor on and putting wedges in cerveza bottles. During the heavy fruit season which is December through February we have fresh lemonade everyday if I can keep up with the routine.
We like lemonade slightly tart with less sugar poured over a mound of ice. One pitcher of lemonade will last the day, maybe a little longer. I get a too full feeling if I reach for a beer. I liked those little 7oz. bottles you could get for awhile. Now I just go for the ice cold lemonade made with the lemons from the backyard. The lemonade recipe follows, as well as, with a few extra lemon uses.

Ah! Lemons.
Or as they say south of the border, lee moan.
My husband's family, from Guadalajara, always speaks of fruit with reverence. Cuca, my late mother-in-law, liked nothing better than mangos with lemon or lime squeezed all over the slices. The family did the same with cucumbers, roasted cob of corn, onions, papaya, any soup with a chicken or beef broth, carne asada, ceviche, to continue the list would be bad writing form.Mexico's national bottled inebriant, Tequila, is served with lemons.
Where I grew up lemons were for lemonade. That's all.

Juice That Tastes Better Than Store Bought
I froze the one cup fresh squeezed lemon juice in the cheapest ziplock type bags I could find and stacked them flat in the corner of the freezer. I have to pry them apart now, but the lemonade is as good as the freshly squeezed.

- You have inspired me to use the lemons on our Myers lemon tree this year. Last year we picked them, but forgot about them in the refrigerator. What a waste. Great lens.

- I LOVE hand-squeezed lemonade. However I rarely take the time to make it. Recently I discovered simply lemonade in the refrigerated section of the grocery store and this store-bought lemonade is the closest to the real thing I've ever tasted from the store. So when I'm feeling lazy, I just buy that. 5*!
