Overview of one of the best-kept secrets in all of Vectorland - Real-DRAW Pro

Combining vector editing and natural brush techniques into a technology they call "VectorBit Editing" makes this program one of the most versatile packages you can find in a graphics program.

Introducing Real-DRAW

One Guy Wrote This?

Real-DRAW is an extraordinary graphics program by Roman Voska, (aka "Oscar") the founder of Mediachance.
It works well for illustration, photo collages, interactive web design and getting that "hand painted" look.

What you'll find when you start it up is that the organization is a little different than what you normally find with graphics apps.
Every vector shape is it's own layer and these layers can be edited individually, as a group, or as a package which offers endless possibilities for formatting.

Blend, bevel, bump - OK, I ran out of "B's" - add 3D lighting effects, transparencies, gradients, glow, and just plain smoosh stuff around. Real-DRAW has fanatastic style capabilities.
The styles themselves can be saved and applied to other objects which speeds up progress tremendously.

Want speed? I didn't have a camera around so created my "self-portrait" for my Squidoo bio picture in about 15 minutes. The hardest part was pretending I don't have wrinkles.

Painting new Bitmaps is another click away and with all of its artistic brushes, nozzles, (which you can add to and edit) and a great cloning tool (another great way to get rid of wrinkles), you've basically got another app.

This is a 30-day shareware app so be sure and take the month to discover all of the features like Mega Rendering, the wire grids, making web pages (oh, it's so easy to make web graphics with Real-DRAW), blueprint, object editing (joining, subtracting, etc.) and that crazy "push-back" feature (you're just gonna have to see for yourself) and you'll see what a great value you get for your hard-earned cash.

Illustration Feature

A New Feature for Real-DRAW 5

If vector editing seems a little too cold for you or you're using an older version of Real-DRAW, check out the new illustration feature in RD 5.
It's like a high-tech sketching/coloring book.

Liquid Package

Another New Feature in Real-DRAW 5

This is like the "blur" brush on your painting apps but now it can be applied to vector objects - either one object at a time or as a package.

Real-DRAW Power Players

Tutorials the Pros Share

Real-DRAW has a great help file (which is amazing for a graphics app in and of itself) but sooner or later, you'll want to find out what else you can do and that's where the Real-DRAW community really shines through with a generous offering of walk-throughs.
Check out the Mediachance Forums right here.

Graficalicus is a Real-DRAW guru.
His website contains tutorials on not just Real-DRAW, but Photoshop Elements and other graphic apps as well.
Definitely worth a look if you want to expand your graphic thinking.
His web page with lots of Real-DRAW "extras" is Graffi Shop.
Some things are FREE and the rest, including a "Tips and Tricks" e-book are dirt cheap.

Bush Arts
A Generous site that has an in-depth Real-DRAW section.
It's probably the best place to learn about creating brushes and nozzles and CSS scripting in RD.
Check out "25 Tips" to get a good handle on the basics.

Granny is not as old as she'd lead you to believe but knows a whole lot about RD Pro and scrapbooking.
Check out her membership site at and be sure and view her samples page here.

DH~Creation Station (known as c1lonewolf on the MediaChance forum)
Grab some snacks, a drink and get comfy in front of your computer.
You'll want to spend a bunch of time here and if you can afford the books, you'll learn that much more.
The inspiration for the Cycle Tribes banner at my CafePress site was found here and the "trading cards" are a great innovation.

Power Players on YouTube

Spend Some Learnin' Time with Real-DRAW Groups
