Real Haunted Houses

While on the haunt for online news about real haunted houses I found an AMC blog about why houses are scary. To the blogger, it's because houses are alive.

Did you know there are two kinds of life in haunted houses? One type are the haunted houses that have ghosts--entities of people who lived or died in the house. The second type are the energies of the house itself.

According to the AMC blog, these kind of real haunted houses have personalities that make us feel as though we're always being watched. And, the writer adds, it's not ghosts that are doing the watching, its the houses who are keeping an eye on us.

Creepy!

I loved the example of Alfred Hitchcock's two movie haunted houses, one in Rebecca and the other in Psycho. Apparently another great onscreen real haunted house was the one created for The Others. To the blogger, "five minutes of the house at the end of Blair Witch packs more creepiness and more mystery than most high-budget spooky houses manage to generate in two full hours.

One of the best (and less expensive) for my needs was an e-book that told me how to photograph real haunted houses, all about EVPs, how to put together a ghosthunting kit, and how to conduct a ghost hunt.
