Reality Cooking Or Cooking Reality... What a Concept!

Ranked #32,162 in Entertainment, #401,045 overall

"Brilliant!" Or Atleast Entertaining!

A few years ago if somebody used the term "reality cooking show" my response would have probably been "What?". Now it seems we can't get enough of them, myself included, with all kind of variations and new ones popping up seemingly every time I turn the TV on! Laugh if you will, but they are making stars out of everyday people and we love it! A new twist, if you please, on the already popular Celebrity Cooking Shows of the last decade.

Popular Cooking Show Favorites

type=textCooking shows have been around for a long time for a select group of networks. However, there are several stars that have rose to the top of the market like Paula Deen, Rachael Ray and Emeril just to name a few. You can have your pick of gourmet, cooking time or budget cooking focused shows from a variety of celebrities. Each of them with their own personality, charm, style and audience targeted groups. Who could resist the southern charm of Paula Deen pictured here. She is an American cook, restaurateur, author, actress and Emmy Award-winning television personality and one of many, that has helped to reinvent the network cooking shows of the last decade.

One Of My Favorites

Rachael Ray has a wildly successful career as a syndicated television star, an iconic Food Network television personality, bestselling cookbook author, Founder and Editorial Director of her own lifestyle magazine. Her hugely successful syndicated daytime program, Rachael Ray, launched in the fall of 2006. Showcasing Rachael's warmth, energy and boundless curiosity, the show invites viewers to experience life the Rachael Ray way. Credited with getting America back in the kitchen with her easy approach to cooking, Rachael takes the same philosophy - finding simple solutions to everyday problems-beyond the kitchen and into all aspects of the show. Growing up in a family steeped in culinary tradition, Rachael was exposed to a wide array of cooking techniques.

Alton Brown's Show "Good Eats"

Alton Brown's show "Good Eats" aired 249 episodes between 1999 and May of 2011. His scientific and often called "nerdy" approach to cooking, won him a worldwide following spanning over 10 years of network programming. He has now moved on to host Food Network's "Iron Chef" show in which he continues to entertain us with his unique personality and quirky humor. These refreshing, candid, colorful and entertaining quailities of the latest cooking stars, seems to be the common ingredients to their phenomenal success.

Reality Cooking Shows Stars

type=textBobby Flay is one of the best known stars of the reality cooking show phenomenon depending on who you ask. Television producers have took a very profitable food service market to a whole new level of media marketing. Taking professional cooking with world renown chefs and giving anybody the chance to see them at work in thier own living room. What a concept, and from the looks of it, a stroke of pure genuis! We as consumers of not only of food, kitchen appliances, cookbooks and cookware, but entertainment and the merchandising of the whole industry.

Another Rising Star

Jose Garcia is one of the newest Iron Chef additions who is very popular in his own right. Each star brings thier own individual taste and cooking styles that I feel, is part of the shows' tremdous success. Iron Chef Jose Garces owns and operates five wildly successful restaurants in Philadelphia. "These past few years have been an amazing time in my life," says Chef Garces. "I have experienced a tremendous amount of personal and professional growth, and I feel incredibly lucky that I'm able to make a career out of doing the things that I love."

A little more about me

I have recently been looking for different ways to accomplish some goals I've had most of my life and yet to fufill. Traveling the world, starting with 30 of the states that I haven't visited yet, and sharing my talents where ever and when ever I can. I enjoy learning about different cultures and meeting people that share the same zest for life.

Growing up in a college town, I got to meet people from all over the world through my familys' business. My father serviced and repaired many of the professors' and exchange students vehicles. We had quite a few families stay in our home over the years from atleast 10 different countries. I attended college for 5yrs only to wind up in the family business, which I ran for several years before I ventured out on my own and got married.

I have three beautiful children, the youngest will turn 4 yrs old in August my first girl, her older brothers are 16 and 17. Life has been on hold for a few years now but, I hoping through an online business I can fufill some of my dreams and provide for my family at the same time. I'm looking forward to meeting people even if it is online for now, I toured playing music for several years and met alot then, but now I work in front of a computer screen.
Thanks for taking a few minutes to listen, I look forward to hearing from you guys! Love the Squidoo community, everybody is so nice and helpful it has been a pleasure so far.
Thanks again!
Wayne

I had to laugh after I voted; seems I'm not the only one who loves the Swedish Chef :-D We don't have cable, but I do enjoy watching Rachel Ray periodically. I'll add that my brother (who does have cable) loves watching Iron Chef.
    Nice lens!

I happened to catch Paula Dean on The Price is Right one day a while back though I don't watch daytime TV usually. Anyway, Drew Carey said something to the effect that everything Paula Dean cooks, she just adds a pound of butter. Such a cute moment that did get laughs. Butter just makes things taste so good!
