Reasons to Go Organic for your Health, the Environment, and your Wallet!
Going organic sounds great, but what does it mean? And why should you go organic? Organic products mostly cost more, and they're harder to get. What's the difference between regular food and organic food? There are a lot of differences. There's also a lot of hype about going organic. Some foods aren't necessarily the most important to buy organic, while with others, it's crucial. With your food and clothing, there are some definite reasons to why you should be going organic that will benefit not only your health, but your wallet and the environment, too! Read on to find some reasons to go organic for your health, the environment, and your wallet.
1. Go Organic, Eat Less Toxins
Toxic pesticides are a major reason you should consider going organic!
Buying organic simply means you'll be consuming less toxins from the food you eat. Pesticide use on fruit and vegetables is a huge cause of disease and can have huge health implications. You'll feel better, and you'll be doing your little piece to better the environment by preventing these toxins from being used in the first place. Now doesn't that feel good?

You've seen it before...but why should you bother buying organic?
2. Buy Organic for the Environment
Care about the environment by supporting organic food!
Organic food has a number of benefits for the environment. Pesticides are one of the biggest reasons organic farming is less harmful to the environment, but it also uses less energy. Less energy used means less emissions and harmful gases expelled into the atmosphere. Cleaner air means more of a chance for wildlife to flourish. Less pesticides mean less pesticide runoff into the land. Pesticide use can cause low birth rates in wildlife, so the absence is always a benefit for them!

What to not buy organic
Don't buy anything organic in the grocery store if it isn't listed as USDA certified organic! Who knows if it really is organic or not.
3. Support Wildlife with Organic Food!
Give animals a "safe haven" on organic farms!
Organic farming, as Organic.org puts it, is sort of like a reforestation. Instead of focus on high yield, organic farms are about biodiversity. Insects, birds and animal activity helps give the land a more natural balance that will help sustain the farm for a long period of time.
Organic Food
Convenient and organic food for meals and snacks!
These healthy organic snacks are a much better alternative to what you might be finding in your supermarket. Take it an extra greener step by ordering in bulk. You'll be saving shipping costs and energy.
Buying organic isn't always more expensive!
The term "Organic" has a bad wrap sometimes. A lot of food is priced high that's organic. However, much of it isn't anymore! Take a second look. Buying organic may also save you some doctor visits down the line and missed work time. Consider it an investment in yourself and the environment.

Some foods are more important than others to buy organic...

Reviewers love this product, as you can see: "I cannot say enough good things about this product! It does a superb job on my produce, but I've also discovered that it's great on my cast iron, (no matter what I've cooked on it)..."It didn't leave behind a bad taste, there was a noticeable improvement in how clean the food looked & tasted, and the food actually stayed fresher longer."

- This was a very enjoyable and education lens. It has helped confirm the reasons why I started eating organic in the first place. Struggling through the higher cost of it. Thanks.

- I really LIKE this lens!! You did a fantastic job putting it together. I try to get as much organic as possible-but with the prices being a lot higher (especially the chicken) I cannot afford to buy it as much as I would like. However, I found some organic chicken on sale and purchased it more for a test-I am here to say I could tell a HUGE difference in the taste and I cooked it like I do all of my chicken in a crockpot. Loved it!! If you get a chance, add your lens to my plexo on Earth Day Project Everyday It would be perfect there.

- Great question! Not all organic products are created equal, and some ARE more important than others to purchase organic. Usually a safe rule to follow is those fruits/veggies with more permeable skin often are important to buy organic (like mushrooms, onions, strawberries, etc.). What you can try to do instead if you have a local farmer's market near you, you can inquire directly with the farmer to see if they use any sort of pesticide on the crops. While it might not be 'certified' organic, it could be fresher, and lack the chemicals of some of the produce coming from far away (or grown in gigantic commercial farms). I hope this helps!
