Three Health Advantages Of A Vegetarian Diet

Contrary to popular belief, a complete vegetarian diet can be very healthy for you. A properly planned vegetarian diet can give your body all the necessary nutrients it needs without having to animal meat. This article will focus on the three main health advantages to adopting a complete vegetarian diet.

1. Better Heart Health: A vegetarian diet involves eating lots of nuts. Nuts are not only a good source of protein but they contain "good" fats, such as omega-3 and omega-6 which is beneficial to the heart and help unclogs arteries and reduces "bad" cholesterol.

The consumption of more soy milk in vegetarian diets also help reduces the bad cholesterol and is also a great source of protein. Soy milk is also linked to better functioning of the brain.

2. Better Skin Health: Vegetarians also tend to consume foods that have lots of healthful oils and vitamins such as Vitamin A and E through fresh fruits and vegetables. These oils and vitamins are linked with good skin health.

Fruits and vegetables also help in the removal of toxins from the body as they contain high amounts of fiber. This further helps with improved skin health.

3. Better Overall Health: The vegetarian diet also helps people consume more foods that are beneficial to their overall health. Natural consumption of foods that contain antioxidants (foods that destroy free radicals and prevent the development of cancer) and essential minerals and vitamins all help in the better functioning and health of our body system.

Vitamin C and Vitamin E and two strong antioxidants. Berries, tomatoes, citrus fruit, kale, kiwis, asparagus and peppers all have lots of Vitamin C. Brown rice, almonds and seed oils are a great sources for Vitamin E.

After taking these above points into consideration, do you now believe that a vegetarian diet is very beneficial to your overall health?

Been a vegetarian for 15 years and have had no problems getting enough protein, B12, etc, and the food is quite tasty if you learn how to cook. The world is full of suffering. Why cause more suffering towards living beings when you don't have to?

PeaceStartsWithUs says:

Vegetarian is better because of the pressure on the world's food supplies. Everyone could eat well if we were all vegetarians. It takes a huge amount of resources to produce meat on land, and the oceans are becoming depleted. We need to share!

Well, now that I am a single gal .... this might be a possible venture ... would surely try it, but don't know how long before I could be heard utter-ing, "Get me a steak!"

Vegetarian just isn't a lifestyle choice I was ever interested in.
