March 2009 -
Each year we purchase Tax software so we can not only do our taxes but take advantage of all the FREE software available during this time of year. I suppose this year is different due to the econominc situation of the country because not everything was free after rebate this year.
I purchased Turbo Tax at Staples (in store) and did all but one or two rebates online. (Sometimes they do not allow the easy rebates, read your form!). Along with the Turbo Tax I got Microsoft One Care and Quicken Deluxe FREE afte rebates. The other titles were all $9.00 after easy rebates: Print Artist, Scrapbook Factory, Photo Explosion Deluxe, Art Explosion 300,000, My Attorney and HGTV Home Design & Remodeling.
I made us new WILLS using the "My Attorney" software saving over $100+ I would have had to pay a real attorney! We then took the copies and original and got them notorized for FREE>.
Be sure to take advantage of TAX rebates/software offers before April 15th as they will disappear. If you don't do your own taxes, it's still worth buying the software just to get the other titles. Sell your tax software on Ebay, Craigslist, etc. It won't be worth much as the sites are flooded.
I hope you enjoy my page and that I have assisted someone in rebating!

Earn Cash BACK while you shop!
A lot of stores are beginning to allow rebaters to submit their rebate information online instead of through the mail.
You must have a printed store receipt to enter your rebates. All sites will assist you in finding and entering your information.
What I love about rebating online is that I don't have to "chop off" UPC symbols, make tons of copies and spend a stamp/envelope to mail it.
Here's how it usually works: You log onto the rebate site which will be printed on your receipt. Enter ALL information which is requested of you. Any missing information may void your rebate. b> Keep track of the rebate in another place like www.plaxo.com where you can use their "tasks" under calender. I enter the date the rebate was submitted, the date it should be received, any confirmation number, the store name, any phone number given for the rebating department and any other information that could be useful should your check not arrive. Place the printed out copy AND your store receipt (best to staple together) in a folder until you get your check. You should look at your list about once a week to see if any rebate checks/store cards are overdue.
Sometimes you get no check! Call the phone number from the rebate and give them ALL the pertinent formation that you have logged into something like www.plaxo.com. The more information you have, the more likey their error will be fixed over the phone. If they will not fix it, go to the store of purchase armed with your information and make THEM do the legwork. Most stores can take care of your problem quickly. If the store is too far away, tell rebate people you will mail a copy of your papers and ask for an address. Once again, keep records of everything including who you spoke to on the phone, date & time.
Below are stores which have online rebating:
- *Walgreens - You can get 10% more back if you choose to get the moeny as a gift card, not a check. Each month they have an Easy Saver Catalog and at least 4 items which will be totally free after rebate! After you get your first gift card, keep it for all your future rebates. Your card will be loaded by the rebate place and you will get an email as to how much and when.

* Staples - I LOVE to do Staples Easy Rebates! If your rebate allows, you can go online to www.stapleseastrebates.com and enter all your rebates one after another which were purchased on the same receipt. If you have never submitted through Staples before, don't worry, there are very easy instructions all along the way. Best points: 1. You don't need to cut out the UPC symbols and make a bunch of copies, saving you money. 2. No stamp or envelopes to spend money on. 3. Your rebates come faster! 4. You can sign up once and re-enter your user name & password each time you submit a new rebate so you don't need to input all your info each time. 5. You can sign on anytime to research your rebate, see if you cashed a check, etc, if you forgot to record it! - Checker Auto - www.partsAmerica.com

How do I do that?
You're reading this now because you want to learn how to buy items for less then full price. You ask, "How do I do that?" Well, I would say the number one thing is patience. Without patience, you can't succeed at buying below retail price.
Get yourself cash back credit cards like the Discover Card. They even offer a 5% back on gas purchase card! Each time we buy gas, we get 5% back on that purchase. I think they have a limit on how much gas money they refund each month, so check it out before you use it.
The GM Card offers 5% back towards the purchase of a new GM vehicle! This card now also has a limit, I think it is $3500.00 over 7 years that you can earn. We purchased a brand new 2007 Trailblazer in October for the advertised price minus our $3500.00 GM rebate! Before the limit, we bought our Silverado with $6500 off after earning for 7 years. If you buy a brand new GM vehicle and use their mobility program in the first year, you will receive an additional 2 years of On-Star for free. The mobility program pays for up to $1000.00 of adaptive equipment to your vehicle such as a wheelchair lift, ramp, hand controls, etc.
Spend some money on your local newspaper that has Wednesday & Sunday ad inserts with coupons. When you subscribe, ask for their best price or trial price, bargain if you pay a full year in advance. Cut only coupons you know you will use and match them with your grocery store ads. Right now, our local grocery store, Fry's, is offering 10% bonus when you buy a $100 gift card. We bought $1000.00 worth with our Discover Cash Back card. We all need groceries, so nothing goes to waste and we make money on the grocery card as well as our Discover card. (Be sure to pay off your credit card each month or it won't be worth it.)
Look in the paper for stores offering items with rebates and or store coupons. Stores like Frys Electronics, CompUSA, Staples and OfficeMax will usually have software, SD Cards, Disc Storage and more free or more then half price after rebates.
Don't buy your checks from your bank! The newspaper always has check companies advertising in the coupon section. They are fast, accurate and cheap. You also have a lot more checks to choose from buying them on your own.
Good Housekeeping Magazine - You can now get 20% cash back when you buy through their site to select online stores. This is free for current Good Housekeeping subscribers and non-subscribers get a 90 day free trial.
Good Housekeeping Rewards is a program brought to you by Good Housekeeping magazine that allows you to earn up to 20% in cash back rewards. You can only receive these benefits when you shop through the Good Housekeeping website.
"Once you earn at least $20 in cash back rewards, you'll receive a check or a prepaid MasterCard® card loaded with your rewards, and redeemable anywhere MasterCard® is accepted at millions of locations worldwide. "

Do you find yourself shopping differently then before due to the economy?
I say...
What others are saying...
Spark People is a FREE online diet site!
This site is saving my life...

I've had a weightloss problem for all of my adult life. I've tried so many diets, some which worked and some which didn't. I've always gained my weight back and then some. Two years ago this past April, my doctor gave me a "speech" in fron of 4 other medical personnel in the room. He told me that if I didn't do something, I wouldn't live long enough to assist my husband as his health begins to deteriorate. I was in tears. I was the heaviest I'd ever been in my life. Starting the very next day, I began a new journey in my life. I began to eat less and tried to eat more healthy. I began to loose weight! Soon I hit a plateau and became frustrated. I was browsing the web when I came upon SparkPeople. The site is totally FREE! I can't believe it, a FREE weightloss site? What's the catch? I signed up and started looking around, Sparks has a food tracker, weight tracker, fitness tracker, you get your own webpage and you get support from others dealing with the same problems you are. Since April 2006, I've lost 60 pounds. I still have about 45 to go to be healthy but I'm on my way.
You can sign up for emails, there are a lot of them but to me they are worth it. I get recipes, motivation, challenges about food, polls and stories about other members who have met their goals.
I've also become a "gym rat", something I would have never dreamed of becoming. My gym membership is FREE through my medical insurance. Check with your carrier to see if you have a free gym membership. If you belong to Medicare Advantage plan, you probably do through the "Silver Sneaker" program.
I used to PAY weekly to go to a well known weight loss meeting each week. At that time is was $12/week and I'm sure the rate has risen by now. If you take the $12 a week x 52 weeks, I'm saving $624 a year! I don't have to drive anyplace so I'm also saving gas & time.
Click the link above or the one in my bio to take you right to Spark People.
The Most Important Thing
ALWAYS make copies! You cannot back up your rebate claims without proof. Read ALL rebates instructions and requirements as incomplete submission will not be honored.
You will end up buying an item for full price if you don't get your rebate back if you don't follow the instructions, who wants to pay full price? I don't and you shouldn't either.

So you really are a Queen! Cool info. And... you sucked me into Squidoo! I've made 2 attempts at the 30dy Challenge but have had some major life challenges of my own all in the last 60 days. But here I am. Thank you! Before long I'll create my own 'lens' and invite you to come see. Not sure what will be on my page as of yet.
I'll be keeping in touch here and on Twitter. And I'll get you some soldier addresses, too.
