Financial Information for the Rest of Us.

Financial Bailout for Wall Street.

Mortgage Crisis.

Unemployment increasing.

Home values falling.

What does this all mean for us?

RebelCapitalist is an online community forum where people can discuss, share, or learn about issues relating to personal finance and our economy.

Our Purpose

  • To provide financial and economic information to people so that they can increase their knowledge and understanding of their personal finances and our economy.

  • To empower people to take control of their financial situation.

  • To stick to the Man one day at a time.

Why RebelCapitalist?

American capitalism has been hijacked by a predatory class that is intent on advancing their economic interests at the expense of unsuspecting hard working people. The notion of honest private economic activity is quickly disappearing. Americans need a voice in our economy - RebelCapitalist will be the megaphone for that voice.

What is RebelCapitalist?

This predatory class flourishes on an uninformed and uneducated public. RebelCapitalist is a forum where people can gain knowledge and understanding of personal finance issues, our economy and business (we need to know what the rascals are doing). RebelCapitalist provides financial and economic information for the rest of us. There are certain principles that RebelCapitalist is committed to:

  • The pursuit of honest private economic activity. We stress honest.

  • Financial security for those Americans who want it. Financial security can be achieved through action, diligence and perseverance.

  • We must take control of our financial situation. We cannot rely on financial institutions or our government to do it for us.

  • Our government should work for us - it is a tool or resource that we can use judiciously to our benefit.

  • Our democracy requires active participation from us.

  • Always question authority.

  • Be open to learning from others.

Living Within Our Means By Sticking to A Budget

Many of us are learning the hard way about living within our means. We may have mortgage payments that just adjusted upwards or have lost a job or paying too much in credit cards payments. We are being pressed financially from paycheck to paycheck. It is time to stop stressing and get control of our financial situation. One big way to do this is by developing a family budget and sticking to it. Budgeting is the foundation of good financial health but there is more to budgeting than just writing or inputting numbers on a piece of paper or in a spreadsheet.

This is just a teaser. Learn more about budgeting by clicking here.

Phone Scammers are in Full-Force

I heard this morning on the television news about a phone scam occurring where I live. A recorded message would tell people that their account with a particular utility company, cell phone company or satellite/cable company has been suspended and asked them to call a number and give them a bank account number and social security number. This is a classic scam and I suspect with a bad economy we will see more of these scams.

Consider Increasing 401k Contributions

If you can afford to do so, now may be a good time to increase your contributions to your 401k. I know some people might be thinking I am crazy because the stock market is in the tank and your 401k is not what it was worth a couple of years ago. But before you move along give me a chance to explain.

Please go to RebelCapitalist for an explanation.

Online Scammers are Out in Full Force

This is a follow-up to our phone scam story. Online scams are growing because of the number of people going online and the amount of commerce that is taking place online. We have to be extra careful with sharing our personal information, where we click, and purchasing stuff online.

For more information on these evil scammers click over to RebelCapitalist.
