Why RebelCapitalist.com?
"Don't Tread on Me"
It is time that Americans rebel. You might say we are way overdue for a rebellion.
It is time to take out the trash!!! You can insert any similar cliche here.
What are we rebelling against? Good question. We are rebelling against what Professor James K. Galbraith called the Predator Class. This Predator Class operates in many forms: unscrupulous mortgage lenders, greedy and corrupt CEO's, and unethical politicians.
Our main weapon is information and knowledge. Our second main weapon is action. We need to arm ourselves with information and knowledge about personal finance, our economy, and our government. But information and knowledge alone is not enough. We need action: that means voting in elections, writing our elected officials and sending in those annoying proxy statements we get in the mail from our mutual funds or stocks.
We will stick to the Man one day at a time.
Is this class warfare? You bet it is!!! It is Working Class families against the Predator Class.
This Predator Class flourishes with an uninformed and uneducated public!
Rebelcapitalist.com will provide information that this Predator Class does not want you to have. Rebelcapitalist.com is a forum where people can discuss their financial challenges in an anonymous way and learn what other people are doing with the same challenges. What is RebelCapitalist?
Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God -- Thomas Jefferson
We are not advocating the overthrow of the government (Note to National Security Agency: Don't worry). We are promoting an online community or network of people that have a common goal of increasing our knowledge of personal finance and taking control over our finances. Besides, why should only the political blogs have all the fun on the internet.
Rebelcapitalist.com will provide information and advice about personal finance in an interesting way. But most importantly, people will be communicating with each other about personal finance and learning from each other.
Together, we can defeat the Predator Class that is out there in our neighborhoods, in corporate board rooms or on the telephone.
The foundation for this rebellion is contained in the following Rebelcapitalist.com Creed:
1) Debt is evil. Particularly, credit card debt. We should work to eliminate or limit the amount of debt we carry.
2) Vote. This means in elections or proxy statements. Our votes do matter. It is our means for holding politicians and corporate officials accountable.
3) Save income regularly. Saving part of our pay checks should be routine and happen regularly (eg. weekly, monthly).
4) Invest wisely. Be informed before investing.
5) Read and understand everything we sign. We will not sign a document if we don't understand it.
6) Beware of those who promise quick money. It is usually too good to be true.
7) Be open to learning from others. We must listen to others and respect each others opinions.
8) Understand current events and how they may affect us. We need to read newspapers, get news online or listen to nightly news.
9) Always ask "Why?"!!! The dumbest question is the one that is not asked.
10) Operation Financial Security. This is what we want and need. This means no more living paycheck to paycheck. But Financial Security requires a plan.
Class warfare or Business as usual?
