RebelPilot the Ezine
RebelPilot was a weekly ezine that began life back in early 1999. It looked at the Star Wars universe in a whimisical and offbeat way, never taking itself too seriously. In addition to the fun and frivolity there was occasional interviews with Star Wars actors, authors and artists.
About The Editor
Australian, father of four... I think that just about sums me up. For those that followed the ezine and the adventures of my own life I'm happy to say I have since been remarried (to a lovely new woman) and that the four kids from the previous marriage live with us full time.
Background of the Ezine
The ezine and its membership grew from emailing a few online friends (all of whom snapped up Star Wars themed (though obscure) hotmail addresses that I wanted, so I ended up emailing them because they had an interest in what I did.
From there it grew as I sent out Star Wars related humour to these new found friends. Some forwarded the emails to their friends, who in turn contacted me and said "add me to your mailing list!".
My CC field was starting to get rather full so I sought an alternative means of sending bulk email. I discovered eGroups.com.
Which later was bought out by Yahoo and became YahooGroups.
It's been a number of years since I've sent out a regular issue of the ezine (due to things like life, family and other offline commitments).
A few times I've attempted to put the entire ezine collection online. In a site I had designed and built myself, and then later when I installed a forum. It's to relive past glories (though it has been fun reading all the old stuff, thankfully it's not too embarrassing) but because I get the occasional email from fellow Star Wars fans and RebelPilot subscribers who have wanted to reminiscence.
So that's why I'm collating the collection here at Squidoo. And DAMN I wish Squidoo was around when RebelPilot was in full flight. It's perfect for what I was doing.
I've edited a bit here and there (some links to sites are now dead) but otherwise it's pretty much the usual dribble I used to dish up on a weekly basis.
It will take me a while to get all the issues up (3 months if I can do an issue a day) so bear with me as I attempt to get it all organised and online.

In hindsight (hindsight being only a few months after the fact really) they sucked. Oh there was some moments of creative genius and wit, but otherwise it's was a mish mash of stray thoughts, albeit with a theme.
I may publish them as lenses, but they'll come with a recommendation to head straight to Issue 21 if you want to experience a half decent ezine from the get go.
