Rebuild Reeves Corner
Reeves Corner was named for the House of Reeves store, that has stood there for almost 150 years, run by the Reeves family. During the London riots it was burned down, along with the surrounding buildings, leaving 28 families homeless and a number of small businesses hit badly.
An independent fund has been set up by the Reeves family to regenerate the area - not just their own store - and help rebuild.

The Background
The Destruction of Reeves Corner
House of Reeves is a family business that has been running for nearly 150 years. Run by five generations of the same family it has become a landmark, surviving the depression and two world wars, and giving its name to the Reeves Corner area and tram stop by it.
On August 9th, rioters in London burned it down. Twenty eight families were left homeless, more deprived of their livelihood, and many other small businesses badly affected by the blaze. Conditions were captured by the now-well-known picture of a woman jumping from the window of her flat.
The entire area has been badly affected, leading to offers of support and help from many quarters. Since there were so many offers of help, including over 1,000 £10 pledges through Pledgebank, the Reeves family have set up an independent fund to accept contributions to rebuild the area, and help those affected.
