Recession is scary, and the best way to calm yourself is by knowing you have money tucked away in case the worst happens.
Start saving for a recession now and don't be caught unprepared.- Get Out Of Debt
If there is any way possible, get as much of your debt paid down as you can. Recession causes us all to tighten our purse-strings. When the cost of living goes up, and income goes down, it is very easy for that presently manageable debt to snowball into destruction. - Get Professional Advice

Recession Proof Jobs
What kind of jobs survive a recession?
It comes down to whether your job is based on a living necessity or not.
Common necessities in life are food and shelter. Even in a recession, we still need to eat, we still need to (keep) the roof over our heads.
Even in a recession we still need health care and protection from law enforcement.
Government jobs are traditionally recession-proof, too. As are jobs that make and save money for others.
On the other hand, jobs that involve a consumers 'disposable income' tend to feel a serious pinch in the event of a recession. Consumers do not HAVE to go out to eat or to a movie, but they still have to pay taxes, pay the mortgage, and take their kids to the doctor.
Recession proof jobs are hard to come by.

A Cotton Candy Business
Yes, it's true. A legitimate home based business can offer your family...and your finances...and lot of tax savings opportunities. Any chance to save money and open up more savings - and EARNINGS - potential is a great way to recession proof your life.
What makes a home business legitimate?
There are many misconceptions as to what makes a home based business legitimate from our governments perspective. Did you know that if you have a home-based business that you run with the intention of making a profit and work that home business for about an hour a day/5 days week, that your home-based business IS legitimate and qualifies YOU for deep tax savings?
A home business expert over at Home Tax Savings told me that...and they have a ton more advice and tax tips to save us all a lot of money.
Hey, it's law that we have to PAY taxes...but no where does it say we have to OVER pay our taxes!
Because of these amazing tax, and LIFE, benefits that we can all enjoy from owning our own business, I highly recommend everyone finding a home-based business to better prepare for recession.
RECESSION PROOF BUSINESS IDEA
Ever thought about a Cotton Candy business? Me neither! A little bit of research showed me that this business idea has a VERY high profit margin!
The start up costs are low, the over-head is low...and you are more in control of your own financial future by being a small business owner!
A cotton candy business can operate at fairs, carnivals, sports event, school events, school fundraisers, parties.... you can even rent your cotton candy machine out to earn money with NO work on your part!
The cotton candy business is so evolved that you can even cater to the organic and Kosher cotton candy lovers. Yes, they make organic cotton candy flavorings, too!

1. Education is an area that always grows in recessions and even depressions. People change jobs and have to be retrained. If you can teach in an area that is strong during a down turn you will have a job. Posted March 21, 2008 |
