Your Recession Wardrobe can still be interesting and colour co-ordinated even if you need to find a few techniques to keep it interesting

Although there is a recession there is no need to look dowdy!

Perhaps you cannot afford to buy a new out-fit right now, but you can easily up-date your current fashion wardrobe by spending just a few dollars.

During these times, your friend is a haberdashery shop, where you can buy fashionable buttons and trims.

With the minimum of effort, you can get the new look you need.

You need to have fashion in a recession, as it helps to cheer you up and to feel more positive.

I have included a few ideas in this lens to get your creative juices going!

Replace your buttons

One of the easiest and economical ways of up-dating your outfit, is to remove the buttons and to replace them with some fashionable ones. It is amazing how more expensive a simple suit or jacket can look with a set of new buttons. Replacing the buttons on a blouse can also make a real impact.

If you visit your haberdashery shop you will find sets of beautiful, shiny buttons, which will add glamour to your out-fit.

This is a very easy and inexpensive way of transforming your fashion wardrobe

Fashion Shoes

One of the striking fashions on the fashion runways for this summer has been very high heeled shoes. A very good and easy way of up-dating your outfits is to buy a pair of this seasons' shoes, and see how it makes a real difference to your out-fits.

More high heels

Add Gems

This year, gem-stones are very noticeable on the fashion run-ways

No need to dash out and buy one of those expensive outfits!

What you can do is to go through your fashion wardrobe and find a dress or top that would suit a gem make-over. Perhaps a slim-line plain shift dress, or a plain top. This works well on an item that may have a stain on it, as you can easily cover it over! Looking fashionable at the same time!

At your haberdashery shop you can buy packs of sew-on gem stones which you can sew onto your out-fit.

Don't want to sew?

Well you can buy stick-on ones, and use those to transform your outfit.

Low on funds?

Well you can use broken necklaces and sew the beads onto your outfit and really give it impact.

Sew on floral decorations

Floral dresses and skirts are very fashionable this year.

In fact, they often are in fashion during the summer months'.

Therefore it is likely that you have a flowery dress somewhere in your fashion wardrobe

So rather than buy a new dress, get it out and transform it.

At the haberdashery shop you will find tiny silk rose-bud decorations, which cost a very small amount. Buy a few in matching colours to your outfit. Sew them onto the floral pattern of your outfit, and you will see that they really up-lift the outfit and gives a very dynamic effect. This is a very economical method, and gives a very expensive look to your outfit.

Match Jewellery

If you do not have any cash to spend at all, try matching your jewellery to your outfit.

This year large necklaces have been noticeable on the fashion runways

Perhaps you have an old necklace that has been lying there un-worn for years'
If so, get it out, and match it to your dress or outfit. Add a few matching bangles, and you have a completely different look!

Ethnic is back in, and if you add some impact jewellery you can really up-date your outfit at NO extra cost.

Dye your Clothes

You may have an item of clothing that is drab or stained. If it is light-coloured, all the better.

These days you can buy some very effective dyes for clothes, and can even get ones to use in the washing-machine, so there is little effort involved.

It works best if you dye a pale fabric a darker colour such as back or navy.

In this way, you can create a new cool outfit

Accessories

Another way of up-dating your outfit is to jazz it up with some fashion accessories such as a fashionable bag or a striking belt. You can make your outfits look very different by just adding some fashion accessories, which give your outfit this season's look.
