Fun Advice On Retirement or Honorable Unemployment

Hello All, from Sunny Illinois, where I am retiring at age 59, to activities like those pictured in this module, wrestling with  my son, who will soon be too strong for the old man.  Better get my licks in while I can, huh.

So how can I be retired when I am the late life father of two little ones, one 8.5 and one 2.5 years old?  How can I be retired when I am a business owner, and a husband, and probably a little league baseball coach before too much longer?

How can I be retired when I have very little income in the bank for retirement?

Well, I am retired because I am doing things that I love to do.  I am in a field where the only physical requirements involve listening and talking, so I can do that until I grow silent or make no sense, if I listen to my staff.

My work makes a difference, and gives me a chance to make a difference, a vital difference sometimes, and it pays well, so I can earn money far longer than a construction worker or roofer could, simply because I do not have the  physical demands they have.  (Pension is small at this point, better be able to work more years).

And being a dad, I love it.  Just gave my little treasure, Hannah Marie, a bath, and got her dressed, and tickled those chubby little ribs.  Of course, I got "the look"  when I dried her hair.  Soon she will have her first haircut.  My, how time flies.

And being a husband, hubba hubba.  Even at 59, with all the changes that come to ones body at that age, I have a keeper, who wants to keep me.

And the neat part of retirement this way is, I have lots of time to develop new skills, like building online businesses.

My retirement is following the fun advice on retirement offered by Coach Richard Lyons, former Chef to the Stars, now a life coach who likens retirement to mixing the ingredients for his world famous chocolate sauce.

Not too many years ago, folks, I was proud to say I could not use a computer.  What a mistake that was.

Now I am learning to build online businesses (yes businesses), and leveraging my time.  While counseling can be a lucrative business, I am tied to a schedule book, appointments one at a time.

With an online business, I can earn income while I am asleep.  Yes, folks in different time zones visit while I am asleep and spend their money on my information, more accurately Chef Lyons fun advice on retirement.

I am tired today, and I was tired yesterday, does that mean I am retired?

Who knows what they will pick?

Frazzled Family Follies

Join the Logan's as we mill about, creating a family from those small every day interactions. Yeah, like the one where my daughter found the bathroom door open, and made a run with my dental floss. I guess it could have been worse, like if she found the toothe paste.
