Strawberries juicy, succulent, and sweet layered between two shortcakes and on top, under a delicate cloud of sweet creamy whip cream. There is no doubt that one bite of this strawberry shortcake is a taste of pure blissful heaven. If you close your eyes for just a moment you can almost taste the juicy strawberries and sweet creamy whip cream.
Well, now there is no reason to close your eyes and dream about it. You can make it yourself so very easily. Within just a few minutes you can actually be tasting this strawberry shortcake and enjoying your own taste of real heaven.
It is so easy to make even the kids can help. In between bites of juicy strawberries have them lay sliced strawberries on top of the strawberry shortcake. Just make sure you have plenty of strawberries so there is enough for your shortcake!

Home Made Strawberry Shortcake Recipe
Strawberry Shortcake Ingredients:1/2 cup white sugar for marinade
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 cup white sugar
3 pints fresh strawberries
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 beaten egg
2/3 cup buttermilk
2 cups heavy whipped cream

Strawberry Shortcake Recipe
Slice the strawberries and sit them in 1/2 cup of white sugar for one hour to get all the juices.
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
Mix together the flour, baking powder, 1/4 cup of the white sugar and salt in a mixing bowl.
Next add the butter and fold into the mixture using a pastry blender or knife until it's crumb-like.
Make a well in the center and add the egg, vanilla and milk, combining well.
Take care not to over-mix the dough.
Grease an 8 inch round cake pan and lightly flour it.
Transfer the mixture into the cake pan and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and allow the cake to cool.
When it has cooled, slice the cake in half horizontally.
Spread half the strawberry mixture on one cake half and cover with the other cake half.
Arrange the remaining strawberries on top, along with whipped cream.
