You Will Need
* Half Cup Of Millet
* 2 Cups Of Water

Mix the millet into boiling water, boil millet for ten minutes. Turn the heat down and simmer for approximately 30 minutes or until mushy.

For an extra treat, serve your baby millet porridge with a sprinkle of Wheatgerm and fresh apple puree.

Millet Porridge is very easy to make and light on the purse. You can double your recipe, try it your self or refrigerate for baby.

Hot Corn Cereal
8 months

This baby recipe will also be enjoyed by the whole family. Hot corn cereal is a healthy and nutritious baby recipe breakfast for everyone to have a good healthy start to the day.

Older children really enjoy this tasty cereal; you can add raisons, dates or any fruit your children like.

What You Will Need
* quarter Cup Yellow Cornmeal
* Quarter Cup Cold Water
* 2 Teaspoons Wheatgerm
* Three Quarters Cup Boiling Water
* Quarter Cup powered Milk ( optional )

Stir together cold water, Wheatgerm and Cornmeal.
Bring water to the boil; add the cornmeal mixture and also the powered milk if you added it to your hot corn cereal recipe.

While stirring frequently bring to the boil, then let simmer for 2 minutes.

Serve your hot corn cereal with honey, pureed fruit, or for older members of the family you might like to add raisins or chopped dates.

This hot corn cereal recipe will be a pure delight at your table.

I am impressed with the quality of the recipes in this book and the meals that come from them. I have cooked three things so far, and my husband and I have enjoyed them: Ricotta, Tomato, and Basil Pasta, Grilled Prosciutto and Provolone Sandwiches, and Raisin/Apricot Breakfast.

My 6-year old ate the latter with no problems. What I also like about the cookbook and Ponzek's philosophy is get the kids in the kitchen to help; even if they don't eat what they help make (like my son), they are still learning important skills, sharing time with you, and eventually may be persuaded to try one of these high-quality dishes.

The meals aren't fussy, but they are easy to do and taste wonderful. I checked this out from the library first, and I have now bought it a week later. Worth every penny.

She breaks her recipes up into thoughtful categories that include Breakfast, Breakfast in Bed, Afternoon Snacks, Lazy Winter Weekends, Bake Sales, Dinnertime, etc.

Other wonderful-looking recipes include Grilled Chicken with Mango Salsa; Easy Apple Pancake (yep, looks easy); Fresh Berry Bismarck (a Dutch Baby); Butternut Squash Gnocchi.

Again, your kid may not eat everything, but the experience of making quality meals with you and having exposure to different flavors in simply-made food is worth it.

Banana Oats 

This recipe is just perfect for your 6 month old baby.

A great start for bubs and is going to love it.

Introduce oats gradually, as oats may causes a rash in some children. This is a very easy recipe.

What you need:

Half a cup of ground oats
1 cup water, milk or baby formula
Half ripe banana
Half a cup of milk or yoghurt

Mix the ground oats with one cup of water, milk or formula in a saucepan.

Bring ingredients to the boil, and then simmer for about four to five minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, then cover and let stand for a further five minutes.

Slice banana into a blender, add the remainder of the milk or yoghurt then bend.

When cooked cereal is ready, stir in the banana and ingredients and mix well.

Suggestions: For a variety, try pureed fresh or stewed apple or pear.

Easter Recipe for Healthy Cookies! 

If you are looking for the perfect Easter cookie recipe then you have come to the right place.

Bake a big batch for all the family and pack some in little baskets to give away as a healthier Easter gift than chocolate eggs!

Everyone loves a good Easter cookie, here is my favorite recipe:

Ingredients

3 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1-1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup molasses
1-1/2 teaspoons cider vinegar

Step 1
Sift together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves and salt onto waxed paper.

Step 2
Beat together the shortening, sugar and egg in large bowl with electric mixer until fluffy, for about 3 minutes. Beat in the molasses and cider vinegar. Stir in flour mixture until blended and smooth. Gather dough into ball; wrap and chill for several hours.

Step 3
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Divide dough in half. Roll out half of the dough with lightly floured surface to generous 1/8-inch thickness. Keep remainder of dough refrigerated while working with first half.

Step 4
If you want to use a pattern for your rabbit cookies, draw an Easter bunny pattern onto a piece of stiff paper. Make sure that the bunny ears are connected to the head. Cut out this paper stencil.

Then place this stencil on the cookie dough and trace it with a knife. Place approx 1 inch apart on lightly greased baking pan. Take the dough you have leftover and use it again.

Step 5
Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 5-7 minutes or until firm.

Step 6
Once the cookies have cooled you can decorate the cookies, but first you need to make the icing. You can simply choose your favorite cookie icing for these cookies.

This icing can be left naturally colored or you can color it with food coloring. You can decorate the cookies with any Easter designs that you want to. Leave out for the icing to dry before you place them in containers for safe and airtight storage.

Easter cookies are a treat that everyone will be able to enjoy. You may want to make a pretty little Easter basket filled with these cookies and send it to school with your child for his or her teacher.

This is a thoughtful and creative idea that is sure to make the teachers day.

Ingredience:

* Bread 2 slices, of your choice

* 2 T spoons Margarine

* 1 T spoon Vegemite

What to do:

Cut crust from bread, Break bread into pieces then place in a bowl. Add enough boiling water to the bread so that the bread is soft.

Add Margarine, stir mixture to melt margarine. Mix in the vegemite well.

Your baby will enjoy this tasty filling recipe, you will too!

Two Great Family Favorite Chocolate Recipes 

Southern chocolate cobbler:


Southern chocolate cobbler doesn't exactly sound like something edible.

However, do try this recipe and you will be hooked. The following are ingredients needed to make the southern chocolate cobbler:

1 cup self-rising flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons baking cocoa, plus
1/4 cup baking cocoa, divided
1/2 cup milk
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 3/4 cups hot water
Vanilla ice cream (optional)

These ingredients are enough for 6 to 8 servings. It takes a little bit of time to prepare, about 70 minutes but the end result will be worth it.

First, combine the flour, sugar and 2 tablespoons of cocoa. Add milk and oil and stir till smooth. Pour this combination onto a greased, 6 inch square baking pan.

Mix the brown sugar and remaining cocoa and sprinkle liberally over the batter in the pan. Now pour hot water on top of the batter but don't stir it.

Put in the oven and bake at 50 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until top of cake springs back when lightly touched.

Now after over an hour of baking, sit back, relax and enjoy the delicacy while still warm with ice cream on top. Yummy!

Chocolate oat cookies are a treat for the whole family.

The recipe is so simple even your children can bake them in ten minutes!

To make them, you need the following ingredients:

* 3/4 lb. semisweet chocolate chips
* 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
* 1/2 cup sugar
* 1 egg
* 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
* 3/4 cup all purpose flour
* 3/4 cup quick or old fashioned oats, uncooked
* 1 tsp. baking powder
* 1/4 tsp. baking soda
* 1/4 tsp. salt (optional)

Chocolate oat cookies:

First, preheat the oven to 375°F. While waiting for the oven to heat up, melt 1 cup of chocolate chips in a saucepan over low heat.

Beat butter and sugar in a bowl until fluffy while adding melted chocolate, egg and vanilla. Pour in the melted chocolate chips and stir well.

Now place rounded tablespoonfuls of the mixture on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake them for 8 to 10 minutes. When it's done, leave to cool then place the cookies on to a wire rack.

If you wish to freeze the dessert, cool them quickly in the refrigerator to preserve the freshness. Then place them in freezer-proof containers or on sheets of aluminum foil.

Make sure it is sealed properly by wrapping edges of the foil tightly. Place in the freezer. After awhile you may remove the baking sheet.

Frozen cookies can be placed in the freezer for 2 months. If you wish to bake or reheat them, thaw completely before unwrapping.

The recipe for making chocolate oat cookies is kid safe. However, when using the oven and saucepan, parents' supervision is required.

boring sandwich but a delicacy that's a delight to look at AND eat.

Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Cookies 

Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Cookies - These cookies use sweet rice flour, also known as glutinous rice flour.

Don't be fooled by the name; there's no gluten in glutinous rice flour (or any rice flour, for that matter).

This flour, like most gluten-free flours, is easy to find if an Asian grocery can be located. It can also be found in many boutique grocery stores, such as Trader Joe's or Whole Foods.

Other gluten-free flours may be substituted, but be prepared to adjust the amount of flour needed to compensate for variations in starchiness.

It should go without saying, for any household coping with celiac disease, that it is imperative to make sure all your ingredients, work surfaces, and utensils are free of gluten contamination.

Special care should be taken with compound ingredients such as baking powder; make sure its ingredients list does not include gluten-containing items such as modified food starch.

The cookies are pictured to the right with various additions to the dough. Experimenting is encouraged, but please be careful choosing additions. Some of the cookies pictured have oats added, which introduce trace amounts of gluten and are not safe for celiacs.

Equipment
* Large mixing bowl
* Stand mixer and bowl (or a hand-held mixer and a medium mixing bowl)
* Wooden spoon
* Cookie sheet
* Non-stick silicone baking sheet liner (Silpat, etc.)

Ingredients

* ½ cup (1 stick) (120ml) butter
* ½ cup (120ml) sugar
* ½ cup (120ml) brown sugar
* 2 eggs
* ½ tsp vanilla extract
* 1¼ cup (300ml) (1 cup + 2 tablespoons) sweet rice flour
* 1 tsp xanthan gum
* ¾ tsp baking powder
* ½ tsp baking soda
* Chocolate chips (as many as you like)

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
2. Mix the sweet rice flour, xanthan gum, baking powder and baking soda in a large mixing bowl.
3. In a smaller mixing bowl or stand mixer, cream the butter, sugar, and brown sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla and continue mixing.
4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly with a wooden spoon. Don't worry about over-mixing; since there is no gluten in the flour, there is no danger of overworking it.
5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
6. Line cookie sheet with silicone mat and spoon on balls of dough, about 1½" (4cm) in diameter.
7. Bake until golden brown.

Notes

This will likely take longer to bake than a gluten-containing cookie recipe-perhaps about 25 minutes.

Baking time will depend on the flour you use, since the protein content of the flour will determine the rate of browning from the Maillard reaction.

The silicone baking sheet liner is important, as these cookies tend to stick to the pan more than most. If you don't have one, parchment paper might also work.

Cottage Cheese Pancakes 

Your 2 year old will love This Toddlers recipe, enjoying a healthy start with a treat.

What you will need:

3 Eggs

1 Cup Cottage Cheese

1 and a half Tablespoons Melted Butter

3 Tablespoons Wholemeal Flour

1 Dessertspoon Wheatgerm

Using a mixer or blender, beat eggs, add Cottage Cheese, mix till ingredients is fairly smooth. Add butter, flour and Wheatgerm.

Pour small amount into a lightly greased frying pan: Cooking time is as your ordinary Pancakes.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Stewed Apple or Apricot Puree is a great treat.
